In the effort of building the branch and getting closer to the membership and public, The ANCYL Sthe Ndlovu Branch ( ward 24, Msunduzi sub region, Moses Mabhida Region, KZ225) would like to introduce you to our new weekly imputs from the leadership of the Branch, In the effort the build each other as young people and engage on topics which affect us and our glorious movement. To kick Us off, we have a marvellous message from Chairperson of the Branch...
It reads
"Comrades and Friends
Please receive my Revolutionary Greetings on behalf of the ANCYL in Sthe Ndlovu Branch. We trust that you are all well and have had a productive day.
Today, the 25th of February 2019, I would like for us to have a meaningful discussion here on this platform.
Today is a special day.
Today marks the last day for all citizens of South Africa to register to vote on the 8th of May 2019. Tomorrow the President of the Republic, his honourable President Cyril Ramaphosa, will officially sign the voters roll and declare it closed. I'm not even sure if tomorrow the IEC will still be able to allow those who have not registered to do, however we continue to urge those amongst us who have not yet registered to speedily make their way to IEC offices early in the morning and try to register so they too can vote come the 8th of May 2019.
Beyond today, there will be only 70 days left for us to ensure that we deliver a decisive victory for the ANC in this year's General Elections. The question I would like to pose to you comrades is, do you think that the ANC is ready for the upcoming elections?
Have we campaigned enough?
What is the response on the ground?
Are we ready? If not what can be done in these remaining 70 days?
I am aware of the fact that the ANC has a lot of distractions these days. We can include amongst these:
- R**e Allegations
- Commissions of Inquiry
- Court Cases
- Political Killings
The list is endless
I would urge for us not to dwell much on the abovementioned distractions. Let's speak about our connection to the people. Are we ready for the 8th of May?
Asikhulume ngemiphakathi yethu. Ithini ngoANC? Bazowuvotela? What are the stats in your branch? But most importantly how can the ANC improve it's campaign and attract more voters?
We note the glaring struggle of young people not only in Ward 24 Sthe Ndlovu Branch, But throughout the country.
Unemployment remains the highest amongst the youth. However we welcome to move by our President of accepting and implementing a long standing ANCYL resolution of doing away with the experience requirement in all Public Entry Level Posts. But it is not enough. What more can be done to create sustainable jobs?
We also welcome the launch of the KZN Youth Fund, which has an inaugural budget of 50 million. We hope young people have grabbed this opportunity with both have and have applied for funding as per the request issued by the Premier's Office. But 50 million is not enough.
This year the ANCYL commemorates 60 years of Peter Mokaba, It's first President after it was unbanned. Does the ANCYL of today resemble the legacy of Peter Mokaba? If President Peter was alive, how would he expect the ANCYL of today to respond to the political spectrum it finds itself in? "
Let us engage comrades
Amandla awethu
