• National Certificate: Ambulance Emergency Assistant (ANA)
• Valid HPCSA registration as BLS
• Valid PrDP (advantage)

Intermediate Life Support (ILS):
• National Diploma / Certificate: Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA)
• Valid HPCSA registration as ILS
• Experience in emergency or site-based EMS (advantage)

Advanced Life Support (ALS):
• BTech / National Diploma in Emergency Medical Care
• Valid HPCSA registration as ALS
• Proven clinical experience in emergency and/or site EMS

General Requirements (All Levels):
• Valid ID
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Professional conduct and reliability

Two Dead, 10 Injured in Christmas Eve N3 Crash

Date - 24 December 2025

Earlier this morning, around 6am, Mi7 Emergency Medical Services was dispatched after reports of a Motor Vehicle Accident on the N3 near Balgowan.

Medics found that a minibus taxi and a car had collided. It is believed the car was standing in the yellow emergency lane when the taxi slammed into it.

Unfortunately, the two occupants in the car were declared deceased on scene.

Medics from various service providers worked together to triage and treat the occupants from the taxi. At least ten people in the taxi, including three young children and an infant, had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

All were taken to hospital for further treatment.

We pass our condolences to the loved ones of the deceased and wish all those injured a successful recovery.

N3 Van Reenen Pass: As we wrap up transport month, we are saddened by the death of people in a horrific accident on the N3 Van Reenen Pass - between KZN and Free State.

Our efficent and energetic Road Traffic Inspectorate together with SAPS Accident Unit have launched an investigation to determine the cause of this accident involving a truck and a minibus taxi.

The preliminary report from RTI indicates that eight people have died. We will update figures and give more detail report as we move along.

This morning at 05h00 I interacted with our energetic RTI team and Traffic Ambassador Ayanda Msweli. We are saddened by this accident in view of the fact that we had an accident-free Transport Month.

The scene of the accident is currently active.

In our engagement with N3 Toll Concession, we agreed to close N3 to allow rescue teams to do their work uninterrupted.

Consequently, there is traffic congestion between Van Reenen and Swinburne. We request motorists to be patient and exercise extra caution.
