And that's a wrap on the 2026 KZN Provincial Golden Games!

The final day came to an end with a lively closing ceremony as our gogos and mkhulus celebrated, danced and enjoyed every moment. Despite the cold weather, our Golden Games athletes braved the chilly conditions and showed up with energy, determination and plenty of spirit!

The competition may be over, but the journey continues. The top-performing athletes will form Team KZN and head to the National Golden Games, where they will represent the province on the national stage. 🏆

What a way to close out the games!

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture takes a firm stand against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. GBVF remains a national crisis that destroys families and communities. As a department at the heart of social cohesion, we cannot be silent.

Through sport, arts and culture, we are using our platforms to educate, mobilise and break the silence. Enough is Enough!

We encourage all athletes, artists, officials and communities to join us in saying STOP GBVF. Real men protect, they don't abuse. Let's build a safe, active and healthy KZN where women and children are protected.

It was fire on the field today! 🔥🏆
The 2026 KZN Provincial Golden Games for our senior citizens heated up in style!

Rain? What rain! 🌧️ Our gogos and mkhulus from all 11 districts of KZN showed up, showed off and shook the ground — bringing gees, skill, dance and pure determination to the track and field.

The energy was electric! From the songs on the sidelines to the goals on the pitch, our elders proved that age is just a number.

The best of the best from today will now be selected to form one unstoppable Team KZN to fly the KZN flag high at the National Golden Games.

Rain or shine, active ageing is alive and winning in KZN!

2026 KZN Provincial Golden Games are underway!

The province’s 11 districts are battling it out for top honours across Athletics, Women’s Soccer and Men’s Soccer, showcasing talent, determination and the spirit of active ageing. While districts will compete against one another at the Provincial Games, Team KZN will be a selected team made up of the top-performing athletes from across the different districts. This means the best talent from each district could come together to form one strong provincial team, for example, a goalkeeper from Amajuba, a striker from iLembe and other standout players from districts across the province.
The selected Team KZN will go on to represent KwaZulu-Natal at the National Golden Games. 🏆
Let the games begin!
