On behalf of the CONGRESS OF SOUTH AFRICAN STUDENTS (COSAS) kindly receive our revolutionary greetings.
We would like to commend the high discipline that most South African citizens have practiced throughout the national shut down and extending to the recently applied measures to accelerate the economy of the country by adhering to stage 4 of the national shut down . We equally encourage those who have not complied; to take it upon them to head the call that the honourable President Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa requested and ensure that people are safe and are following all the necessary precautions.
Moreover , the Congress of South African Students applauds the amicable work that the leaders of the ANC and PYA structures have put into ensuring that the people of South Africa are led and that those from less privileged backgrounds are assisted and afforded the dignity they deserve.
However , the CONGRESS OF SOUTH AFRICAN STUDENTS is saddened by the way some members of the ANC are behaving , the act of seeking relevance by sharing fake news and unfounded theories and further defaming the character of ANC leaders. Such behavior exposes that while the organization seeks to advocate for the masses , there are certain individuals who feel that they are entitled and want to dictate and run the organization as a tuck-shop.
Notwithstanding the recent allegations that have been posed to Honorable Lindiwe Makhalema, the executive mayor of Dihlabeng Municipality. As COSAS we note the on-going social media posts about the allocating of food parcels that has been circulating from Wednesday 08 May 2020. These posts have brewed a storm on social media, deteriorating the good cause of serving citizens and tarnishing the image of the Executive Mayor of Dihlabeng Municipality, Honourable Lindiwe Makhalema.
The Thabo Mofutsanyana regional congress is underway , hence leaders are being attacked in all spheres, we would like to encourage the leaders of Thabo Mofutsanyana to work hard and never surrender to any vile threats , we would like to further request all leaders to apply high level of professionalism and avoid dragging young people into unfounded and unnecessary battles , young people are equally discouraged from entertaining battles that will only reduce them into political puppets.
Citizens have been edged to treat all matters related to Covid-19 with great sensitivity , however , certain individuals always seek to gain relevance and demand to be treated like celebrities at the expense of a good cause . We would like to edge such individuals to join hands with the leadership and work towards doing what is best for the country , for the citizens and for the organization.
We plead the PYA structures to work hand in hand with the ANC and ensure that there is unity and citizens are rendered the services they deserve. We believe that the most basic trait that the organization possesses is one of high discipline and high morale , hence we would equally like to call upon the ANC to meet all the PYA structures and work with great respect towards the betterment of the country and serving those in impoverished environments.
We wish the entire ANC leadership the best , and hope that they will work towards bettering the lives of South Africans , not only the lives of ANC members but the lives of all South African citizens with no favor to race, ethnicity, gender and political affiliation . This pandemic requires unity and we trust that the ANC is capacitated to lead and conquer .
