School holidays are here!

Now's the perfect time to check under the bed, behind the couch, in the toy box or anywhere those long-overdue library books might be hiding!

Bring them back during our Fine Free Week from 29 June to 4 July 2026 and we'll waive the overdue fines.

Help us get our books back on the shelves so more families can enjoy them.
We can't wait to see you at the library!

Wednesday's we read!

Before bedtime tonight try replacing 30 minutes of screen time for 30 minutes of reading time.

Instead of television,tablets or mobile phones encourage your children to curl up with a good book and let their imaginations take them on an adventure.

Make reading even more exciting by: reading under a blanket with a flashlight or using shadow puppets to tell the story.

A bedtime story is more than just reading it's quality time, creativity and a chance to build a lifelong love of books.

Hernus Kriel Book Club – June Edition

This month, our book club theme was "Read Down Memory Lane", and what a special journey it was!

We had the privilege of spending time with the seniors from the home listening to their fascinating stories about the books they enjoyed growing up. From beloved childhood tales to treasured classics, each story brought back wonderful memories and sparked meaningful conversations.

It was truly inspiring to hear how reading has shaped lives across generations and to share in the joy, laughter, and nostalgia that books can bring.

A heartfelt thank you to all the seniors who joined us and shared their memories.

Your stories reminded us that a good book never grows old!

The Oaks Academy Visits Parow Library

Parow Library would like to extend a big thank you to The Oaks Academy for visiting us this morning!

The learners enjoyed an informative library orientation, a fun storytelling session, and completing the Manzi Says: "Be Water Wise" puzzle. It was wonderful to see everyone participating so enthusiastically while learning about the importance of using water wisely.

Thank you for spending your morning with us.
We hope you had an enjoyable and educational experience at the library.
