Die Kraal stadium came alive once again after more than four decades of silence, as the Ebenezer Primary Under-13 rugby team took on Paulus Joubert in a memorable match that celebrated the official reopening of the historic venue.

The event, hosted by the Drakenstein Municipality, drew a vibrant crowd and carried deep emotional significance for the local rugby community. Die Kraal, once a proud rugby ground, had been closed for over 40 years, making this reopening a landmark occasion steeped in heritage and nostalgia.

On the field, both young teams rose to the moment, showcasing passion, determination, and sportsmanship. Paulus Joubert emerged victorious with a 20–10 win over Ebenezer Primary, but the scoreline was secondary to the spirit of the day. For many of the players, it was a rare opportunity to be part of history—playing on a field that holds decades of untold rugby stories.

Adding to the occasion, several rugby legends who had previously played at Die Kraal over 40 years ago were in attendance. Their presence bridged generations, inspiring the young players and reminding spectators of the rich legacy embedded in the stadium.

The reopening of Die Kraal is more than just the revival of a sports venue—it symbolizes the restoration of community pride and the rekindling of a shared rugby culture. What a sight it must have been as the cheers echoed across the grounds once again.

On 25 February, our prefects were given an incredible opportunity to visit the educational classroom at the Arboretum, where they took part in an inspiring leadership programme. 🌿✨

Throughout the day, they explored valuable leadership skills, strengthened their ability to work as a team, and grew in confidence through meaningful team-building activities.

A heartfelt thank you to the Drakenstein Municipality for providing the space to make this experience possible. We are also deeply grateful to the Drakenstein Fire Department for their powerful session on the importance of teamwork and communication—lessons that will stay with our leaders for years to come. 🚒

A special word of appreciation goes to Mr Frank van Schalkwyk for guiding our learners on what it truly means to stand united and support one another in order to succeed.

It was truly a memorable and enriching day, filled with laughter, growth, and life-changing lessons that our prefects will carry with them on their leadership journey. 🌟

On Friday, 20 March, our prefects experienced a truly special and memorable moment as they were officially presented with their badges—a symbol of leadership, responsibility, and pride.

A heartfelt thank you to Ds. Granville Saaiman for the powerful message and the meaningful blessings bestowed upon our prefects. Your words inspired and uplifted all who were present.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to Audrey Swartz for beautifully preparing the church, creating a warm and welcoming space for such a significant occasion.
