DA KZN congratulates Public Works and Infrastructure Department’s MEC Martin Meyer for the first ever Clean Audit outcome

The DA in KwaZulu-Natal congratulates the DA’s Martin Meyer and his Public Works and Infrastructure Department for its clean audit by the Auditor General for the first time in the department’s existence.

This is no small accomplishment as this is backed by findings of the department’s own records and is a result of exercising accountability and enforcing tighter and reformed internal measures.

This is the result of the NEW KZN Public Works and Infrastructure Department. This achievement will play a huge role in streamlining the delivery of infrastructure across KZN.

The Department has conducted extensive consultations with its records and discovered there is no recorded finding of a clean audit in the history of the department and this translates to a commitment to becoming an evolved entity and one which can be seen as a trustworthy partner for the private sector, investors, developers and major financial institutions to effectively collaborate with for the aim of unlocking endless infrastructure development and growth potential.

It is also important to note when MEC Meyer was appointed two years ago, one of his key priorities was the attainment of a Clean Audit outcome through enforcing stringent financial controls and this has since been achieved.

This is the DA difference that you can expect when we take over governance after November Local Government Elections.
