General information
Often described as a “once in a lifetime experience”, hot air ballooning is in fact the oldest form of flight, known to man. The fascination of free flight with a panoramic view over scenic countryside is something special that cannot be explained in the same way that it can be felt. Air to Air Africa is based in the Cradle of Humankind, near Lanseria Airport (about 35km north- west of Johannesburg in Gauteng). The area is a well-known World Heritage Site, boasting the famous discoveries of ancient fossils. The area includes Game and Nature Reserves on the banks of the Crocodile River. We operate our hot air balloon rides from The Cradle of Humankind and take off from Glenburn lodge & spa. We only offer early morning flights due to safety precautions which you can read more about here, and ensure that each and every guest leaves having had the adventure that they came for.
