A fire update for our market family ❤️🔥

We want to reassure our community and visitors that Franschhoek town is safe. Firefighting teams are still hard at work on the mountain areas above the valley, where containment efforts continue in challenging conditions.

We are incredibly grateful to the Cape Winelands District Municipality, CapeNature, Winelands FPA and volunteer services who are protecting our valley 💪

If you’ve been holding back on a visit, please know that the village is OPEN, businesses are welcoming guests as normal and we would love to see you back under the oak trees at the market this weekend.

The market will once again serve as a collection point for our firefighters this weekend, 24 & 25 January. Donations such as water, energade, eye-drops and energy bars will be greatly appreciated! 🙏🏻

We’ll continue to share updates if the situation changes. Thank you for your ongoing support, care and kindness towards our beautiful valley.

BASTILLE at the Franschhoek Village Market! 🇫🇷🍷

Get ready for one of the most exciting events on our calendar – the annual Bastille Market is back and bigger than ever!

Join us as Franschhoek transforms into a vibrant French-inspired celebration on Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 July – a weekend full of festive flair and joyful community spirit. It’s a firm favourite for locals and visitors alike and a true highlight of the winter season.

What to expect at the market:
🔴A curated selection of exciting traders, familiar favourites and new faces
🔵Live music by Newton & Co to set the mood
🔴Mouth-watering food and drink
🔵Exciting surprises along the way
🔴Fun for the whole family
🔵And we’ll be open both days from 9am - 3pm!

Free entry and free parking – bring your loved ones, bring your furry friends (on a leash) and come soak up the Bastille buzz!

So delighted to let our Pancake Fans know that the Root44 parkrun - Stellenbosch is back!
We're ready for you with plates of scrumptious traditional pancakes to go with your post-run juices and coffees. First park runner in our queue after the run 🏃‍♂️ gets their pancake free! 🥞. See you all on Saturday!
