ANC Youth League - Jerry Kgofela Branch ANC Youth League- Kagiso (Ward 8). We meet at Kagiso Secondary School on Wensdays at 18:00. What is African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL)?

The ANCYL since its inception in 1943 has been established as an organization of young people within the ANC (African National Congress). Twin tasks of the ANCYL

To rally young people behind the banner of the ANC and to champion the interests of all young people within ANC and society in general. Why join ANCYL?

• First and foremost you have an honour of being a member of an organization that is

associated with the names of our great struggle stalwarts, like Nelson Mandela, Ashley Mda, Walter Sisulu, Oliver Tambo and Anton Lembede.
• To develop a very strong political understanding and consciousness.
• To constantly exchange important information with other young people (i.e. information on bursaries available, job and business opportunities).
• To learn more about our roles and responsibilities as a young people living under the ANC Government.
• To develop a sense of working as part of the collective or a team
• To become a current and future leader in the society

Who can join the ANCYL? You must be a young person between the ages of 14 & 35 years to join the ANCYL. Any South African youth irrespective of race, gender or creed and who is prepared to abide by the constitution, programmes, policies and tradition of the African National Congress Youth League.
