Modimolle-Moookgophong Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Anna Mboweni welcomed Coghsta continued commitment to supporting municipalities in addressing service delivery challenges

Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Anna Mboweni and Chief Whip Mokgadi Dayimani attended the 2026/2027 COGHSTA Budget Vote, reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to strengthening cooperative governance, service delivery, and sustainable development for local communities.

MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs Basikopo Makamu presented Budged Vote at the Limpopo Legislature in Lebowakgomo.

Mayor Mboweni welcomed the department’s continued commitment to supporting municipalities in addressing service delivery challenges and accelerating development in local communities. She further emphasized the importance of collaborative governance in ensuring that communities receive quality services and benefit from developmental programmes.

Mboweni said “the municipality remains committed to work closely with provincial and national government departments to promote responsive governance, infrastructure development, and improved living conditions for all residents of Modimolle-Mookgophong.

Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality Mayor, Cllr Anna Mboweni, commenced her birthday and Mother’s Day celebrations with a church service in Phagameng, reflecting on the importance of faith, gratitude, and community.

Mayor Mboweni is now hosting a special gathering for mothers at Sedibeng Disable Centre also in Phagameng, where she is celebrating her birthday alongside Mother’s Day, honouring the invaluable role that mothers play in building strong families and communities.

Water Supply Interruption

Klipdrift Water Supply Scheme

Friday, 08th May 2026

Subject: Water Supply Interruption at Klipdrift Water Supply Scheme Due to Repairs at Raw Water Pump Station.

Magalies Water hereby informs bulk customers receiving bulk water supply from the Klipdrift
Supply Scheme of imminent water supply interruptions. This is a result of repairs at the Raw
Water Pump Station due to one of the defective pump sets following a malfunction within the
Variable Speed Drives (VSD’s). The contractor is already onsite and the work with repairs
continues , and the estimated time of completion will be as follows:

Statement on the service delivery feedback engagement meeting with residents of Koro Creek

7 May 2026

The Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality has assured residents that significant progress has been made in improving road networks and water supply infrastructure across the municipality. Mayor Cllr Anna Mboweni, Chiefwhip Mokgadi Dayimani as well as acting municipal manager Lekubu Malema and other municipal officials held engagement feedback meeting with residents of Koro Creek on Thursday

The engagement form part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to enhancing service delivery and ensuring sustainable development.
However, acting municipal manager Malema has raised serious concern that approximately 70% of municipal road infrastructure has exceeded its intended lifespan. This has resulted in increasing maintenance challenges and declining road conditions in several areas. As a result, the municipality requires additional funding to rehabilitate and upgrade these roads to acceptable standards.
The municipality continues to secure the necessary resources to address infrastructure backlogs and improve the quality of life for residents.
