More Tools of Trade to enhance Service Delivery
Executive Mayor, Cllr. Sibongile Makushe-Mazibuko tody led her team of MMCs and senior members of staff to receive additional fleet to enhance service delivery.
In her acceptance remarks, the Executive Mayor couldn't hide her excitement when indicated that it gave her great pleasure to be receiving the much needed tools. She said that once again the leadership has delivered on the commitments it made when assuming office.
She further reiterated that the city will continue to build state capacity in order to reduce contracted services and serve our communities better.
Over the city has ensured that no financial year passes without an addition to our fleet.
Today, we eceived 10 of the 20 x water tankers with the next delivery expected mid-July 2026.
We have also ordered 15 x 19 – 21 cubic waste compactor trucks, 8 of which are being delivered today and the remaining 7 will also be delivered mid-July 2026.
Further to the trucks we adding 10 x bakkies to be distributed to a number of departments as follows:
2 x Single Cab - Waste Management
2 x Single Cab - Parks and Cemeteries
2 x Single Cab with Canopies – Local Economic Development
1 x Double Cab 4x4 Disaster Management
1 x Single Cab with Canopy – Finance for Meter Readers
1 x Single Cab with Canopy – Corporate Services for Records Management
The Executive Mayor further thanked the employees for their understanding and cooperation. Through perseverance and tenacity, they work with limited resources at their disposal but continue to make a difference and change the lives of our people for the better but also appealed to them and our citizens to guard these assets jealously, ensuring that indeed we remain on course to be the City of Excellence, the ultimate Destination.
