SEPTEMBER 2025 – ACTIVITIES & CHECKLIST
We are now in a high fire danger period. The fire risk is extreme! No burning permits until further notice. This forms part of LEFPA’s proactive measures to reduce wildfire risks.
👉 Going forward, only special burning permits will be issued on request.
👉 All previous burn sites must be monitored – please revisit and secure all burn sites.
With changing weather patterns, approaching fronts, and hot, dry, windy conditions, extra vigilance is essential. Together, let’s ensure responsible fire management and protect our communities.
Attend LEFPA Meetings
Inspect Airstrips Weekly
Distribute Standby Rosters
Inform All Staff
Monitor the FDI Daily
Study Weather Systems
Conduct Equipment Checks
Maintain Readiness

🚒 May 4th was chosen as International Firefighters' Day as it is the feast day of St Florian, the Patron Saint of Firefighters.
St Florian was the first known commander of one firefighting squad in the Roman Empire. He lost his life, as well as those of his colleagues, for protecting the same humane ideas which Firefighters all over the world share even today.
Happy International Firefighters' Day to Firefighters and their supporters all around the world. We thank you for the courage, commitment, and dedication you show every day by serving your community.
