These creatures are fast, highly social and completely reliant on one another, hunting together, raising their pups and constantly communicating as they go.

Protecting their natural habitat and supporting conservation efforts is essential to ensuring these incredible animals continue to roam wild for generations to come.

We’re incredibly fortunate to experience unforgettable lion sightings like this at Lepogo Lodges. But beyond the incredible sightings and photographs, World Lion Day is a reminder of why protecting these animals and the wild spaces they depend on is so important.

At Lepogo, conservation isn’t separate from the safari experience, it’s at the heart of it. Through protecting the wilderness, supporting biodiversity and creating a space where wildlife can thrive naturally, we’re working to keep this landscape wild for the future.

A total solar eclipse on 12 August and a deep partial lunar eclipse on 28 August will transform the African sky into a breathtaking celestial display, inviting us to pause, look up, and reconnect with the wonders of the universe.
