The ZRP has conducted a massive operation against criminal acts such as murder, robbery, r**e, stock theft, among others in Mazowe mining areas. The operation also targeted land degradation, soil erosion, destruction of railway infrastructure, road and water systems. 79 suspects were arrested including four for causing damage to railway infrastructure. The police recovered water tanks, 30 excavators, 10 generators and three submissive pumps, seven hammer mills, six windlers and 20 water tanks. Some foreign nationals and Zimbabweans were arrested in Storeys area, Mazowe for alluvial mining which affected the water system and agriculture facilities. The areas raided by the ZRP include Storeys, Jumbo mine and surrounding areas. The ZRP dismantled shebeens and confiscated several kgs of meat, alcohol, illicit brews and groceries. These activities are obviously contributing to criminal acts in the area.

The ZRP confirms the arrest of Peace Mandizvidza (32), Edward Sibanda (27), Tapiwa Tagwirei (27) and Kumbulani Sibanda (25) in connection with a series of unlawful entry into premises and theft cases which occurred in and around Masvingo between December 2025 and April 2026. The suspects have so far been linked to 10 cases of unlawful entry and theft, in which property valued at US$14 330-00 was stolen. The incidents involved the suspects breaking into residential premises in the absence of the owners and stealing various household goods, including electrical appliances such as television sets and refrigerators, as well as blankets and other items. Police have since recovered property valued at US$10 305-00, including two television sets, a deep freezer, blankets and other items.

The Commissioner- General of Police, Stephen Mutamba has presided over the ground breaking ceremony of the Police boarding school, ZRP Umguza High School in Ntabazinduna, Matabeleland North Province today. The event was graced by traditional leaders, senior government officials and other stakeholders.
