As part of the Thuntsa Lerole Accelerated Service Delivery Programme the Department of Human Settlements is in Ga-Khunwana, giving community members information on departmental programmes such as Breaking New Grounds (BNG), First Home Finance (FHF), Community Residents Units (CRU’s) and Title Deeds.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

Colleagues, friends and loved ones of the late Tefo Mokhele gathered to reflect on his life, celebrate the memories he leaves behind and pay tribute to a valued employee of the North West Department of Human Settlements.

Tefo will be remembered as a humble, fun-loving, caring, supportive and cooperative individual who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those around him. He was also a proud and passionate Orlando Pirates supporter.

His contribution to the Department and the relationships he built with colleagues will forever remain a cherished part of his legacy. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

To the Mokhele family, the Department extends its deepest condolences during this difficult time. May the Lord comfort, strengthen and carry you through this time of grief.

As part of the Title Deeds Friday MEC Gaoage Oageng Molapisi handed over eight title deeds to residents of Huhudi location in Vryburg.

MEC Molapisi further urged Huhudi residents to take good care of their title deeds and cautioned them against selling their houses.

This he said during a title deeds handover ceremony held at the Naledi Local Municipality Chamber, emphasising that title deeds provide proof of ownership and are an important asset for families and future generations.

This morning MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Gaoage Oageng Molapisi handed over houses Ditshilong and Diretsaneng Villages.

The two houses in Ditshilong are part of the 216 housing project for which the department recently introduced a contractor, whilst the house in Diretsaneng village is part of the department’s ongoing initiative to eradicate mud houses.

Through these interventions, the department aims to ensure that elderly persons, persons with disabilities, child-headed households and families living in adverse conditions are prioritised and have access to safe, adequate and decent housing.

MEC Molapisi is accompanied by the Mayors of Greater Taung and Naledi Local Municipalities and Kgosi Tshepo Mankurwane of Batlhaping ba ga Phuhuducwana.
