𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔 𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘, 𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥!
On June 11, the iLembe District leadership and Amakhosi convened to address the district's most pressing priority: service delivery. The engagement highlighted the shared commitment between traditional leadership and local government to improve the lives of all residents.
Key updates shared during the session included:
1. Eskom & Electrification: Due to budget constraints, some electrification projects have been deferred to the 2027/28 financial year. Local municipalities and Eskom are working to fast-track remaining programs, but they urge the community to help protect infrastructure from theft and to refrain from interfering with authorized projects. Additionally, Eskom cannot provide electricity to houses built on disputed or privately owned land without proper wayleave approvals.
2. Agriculture & Food Security: Active support for local cooperatives and small-scale farmers remains a priority. Notably, the district’s mass vaccination campaign for Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is scheduled to take place throughout July and August 2026. Farmers are encouraged to contact their local agricultural offices for guidance and support.
3. Election Update: The national election has been scheduled for Wednesday, 4 November 2026, which will be observed as a public holiday. The IEC has scheduled the first national voter registration weekend for 20–21 June 2026, with a second registration weekend to follow in August 2026. Citizens are encouraged to register to ensure their voices are heard.
4. Health & Safety: The district continues to address high-priority health challenges and the prevalence of gender-based violence (GBV). Residents are encouraged to actively participate in local Community Safety Forums to help foster safer neighbourhoods.
By aligning efforts - from traditional land-use planning to municipal service delivery - the district is working toward building a stronger, more resilient iLembe for all. Through this ongoing collaboration between traditional leaders and government officials, the iLembe District remains focused on effective planning, improved cooperation, and a brighter future for the entire region.

Lokhu kuhlangana kugcizelele ukuzibophezela okuhlanganyelwe phakathi kobuholi bendabuko nohulumeni basekhaya ekuthuthukiseni izimpilo zazo zonke izakhamuzi.
Izindaba ezibalulekile ezidingidwe kule ngqungquthela zibandakanya lezi:
1. Eskom nokufakwa kukagesi: Ngenxa yokuncipha kwesabelomali, eminye imisebenzi yokufakwa kukagesi isihlehliselwe unyaka wezimali ka-2027/28. Omasipala basekhaya kanye ne-Eskom basebenzela ukusheshisa izinhlelo ezisele, kodwa banxusa umphakathi ukuba usize ekuvikeleni ingqalasizinda ekuntshontshweni kanye nokuyeka ukuphazamisa imisebenzi egunyaziwe. Ngaphezu kwalokho, abaka-Eskom abakwazi ukufaka ugesi ezindlini ezakhiwe ezindaweni ezinodweshu noma ezisetshenziswayo ngaphandle kwemvume efanele.
2. Ezolimo nokuvikeleka Kokudla: Ukwesekwa kwemifelandawonye kanye nabalimi abancane kuseyinto ehamba phambili. Izakhamuzi ziyakhuthazwa ukuba zibhalise ukuze ziqinisekise ukuthi amazwi azo ayazwakala.
4. Ezempilo nokuphepha: Isifunda siyaqhubeka nokubhekana nezinselelo zezempilo ezibalulekile kanye nokusabalala kodlame olubhekiswe kwabesifazane nezingane (GBV). Izakhamuzi ziyakhuthazwa ukuba zibambe iqhaza elibonakalayo ezinkundleni zokuxhumana ezibhekele ukuphepha emphakathini (Community Safety Forums) ukuze kusizwe ekwakheni izindawo eziphephile.
Ngokuhlanganisa imizamo yethu, kusukela ekuhlelweni kokusetshenziswa komhlaba kwendabuko kuya ekulethweni kwezidingo zomasipala, iSifunda sisebenzela ekwakheni iLembe elinempumelelo nenqubekaphambili kubo bonke abahlala kulona. Ngalokhu kubambisana okuqhubekayo phakathi kwamakhosi nezikhulu zikahulumeni, iSifunda iLembe siqhubeka nokugxila ekuhleleni okusebenzayo, ukusebenzisana okungcono, kanye nekusasa eliqhakazile lesifunda sonke.
