KURUMAN PRIMARY SCHOOL RCL 2026 GOES TO THE BRICS+ SUMMER SCHOOL 2026

On 2–3 September 2026, the Representative Council of Learners (RCL) 2026 from Kuruman Primary School had the incredible opportunity to attend the BRICS Summer School at the UNISA Main Campus in Pretoria.

Our RCL was accompanied by Ms P. Itumeleng, Mr M. Scharneck and Mrs H. Snyder, who supported and guided our young leaders throughout this remarkable experience.

A SCHOOL AMONG NATIONS

We were incredibly proud to be the only school represented at the Summer School, joining delegates from 12 countries. Our learners had the opportunity to interact with people from different backgrounds, engage with new ideas and experience what it means to participate in a global community.

This was more than a trip. It was an opportunity for our young leaders to learn, lead, connect and broaden their horizons.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to The Magic Company, Potchefstroom, for generously offering our group complimentary rides and experiences.

Your generosity helped make this journey even more memorable and gave our learners the opportunity to experience learning through imagination, exploration and play.

The educational immersive 3D theatre experience was particularly meaningful, encouraging our learners to engage their imagination, explore new perspectives and experience education in a completely different way.

We believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom, and experiences such as these allow our learners to discover, imagine and dream bigger.

To our RCL 2026: You represented Kuruman Primary School with pride. You showed that young leaders from our community can confidently take their place on national and international platforms. 🇿🇦🌍

🏏 WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD! 🏏

We are extremely proud to announce that two of our U/13 girls’ cricket players, Kutlwano George and Bokao Mooki, participated in cricket trials in Kathu yesterday, 8 September 2026.

We are delighted to share that both girls have qualified for the next round of trials, which will take place in Upington on Friday, 11 September 2026! 🎉👏

This is a very special moment in the history of our school, as this is the first year that we have a girls’ cricket team. To make this achievement even more memorable, two of our players have already progressed to the next round of trials.

Congratulations, Kutlwano and Bokao! 🏏🌟

We are incredibly proud of you both. Go out there, give it your best, and make us proud!

🏏 KPS GIRLS CRICKET – WHAT A START! 💚💛

Today marked a very special milestone for Kuruman Primary School as our first-ever all-girls cricket team took to the field for their very first match! 🏏👏

Although the girls did not come away with the win, they played with determination, courage and great team spirit.

They showed lots of potential and proved that they are a team to watch! 🌟

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. This is only the beginning of their cricket journey, and we cannot wait to see how they grow and develop as a team. 💪🏏

On 26 August, Kuruman Primary School had the pleasure of hosting an exciting Chess Tournament! 🏆♟️

We welcomed learners from:

All the learners enjoyed the day tremendously and showed great sportsmanship, concentration and love for the game. 🤩👏

🏆⛳ A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO DENAÉ! ⛳🏆

We are incredibly proud of one of Kuruman Primary School’s Grade 1 learners, Denaé Joël, who took part in the SA Kids Golf Tournament – Junior African Challenge held from 17–21 August at San Lameer Country Club. 🌟

Denaé did exceptionally well, finishing 1st in the Girls U/7 category! 🥇🏆

As if that wasn’t enough, Denaé also received the Trophy for hitting an eagle! ⛳🏆

What an incredible achievement for such a young golfer! We are so proud of you, Denae!
