Knysna Municipality

Knysna Municipality Knysna has always been the gem of the Garden Route. It includes Sedgefield, Karatara, Buffalo Bay, Rheenendal, Brenton and Noetzie.

The town nestles between the impressive Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean, with the world renowned forests encircling it like a protective mantle. The award-winning 21ha estuary is protected from the sea by the monolithic sandstone "Heads" - silent, centuries old sentinels of the rich history of this unique part of paradise on earth. The municipal area covers a total of 1059 km² that stretc

hes from Swartvlei in Sedgefield in the west to Brackenhill in the east. Knysna is in many ways a microcosm of South Africa: beautiful, vibrant and diverse.

KNYSNA LOCAL ARTISTS | THE STAGE IS SET!

What happens when a community comes together, shares its ideas and dares to dream bigger? Something special begins to take shape.

On Friday, Knysna Executive Mayor Cllr Thando Matika met with local artists and creatives for an important engagement around an exciting vision for Knysna’s creative and musical community: the Mayoral Music Experience.

The message from the meeting was clear: Knysna has talent, and it is time for that talent to take centre stage.

From singers and musicians to DJs, performers and creatives of every kind, our local artists have something unique to offer. They have the voices, the rhythm, the stories and the passion that make our community what it is.

Now we are cooking!

The ideas are coming together, the energy is building, and our local artists are ready to serve nothing but the best at the Mayoral Music Experience.

Further details including the programme and participating artists, will be communicated in due course.

To every local artist who answered the call: thank you for bringing your talent, your ideas and your passion to the table.

The pot is simmering, the stage is waiting, and Knysna is ready for the music.

Watch this space. Something beautiful is coming.
