FIXING OF SEWER SPILLS ACROSS MATLOSANA

The City of Matlosana’s Sewer Department has today attended to sewer spillages in the following areas across Matlosana:

- Jakaranda
- Tigane
- Khuma
- Kediemetse Primary School
- Orkney
- Stilfontein
- Hartbeesfontein

The above work is part of ongoing accelerated service delivery programme as directed by the Executive Mayor and Council.

STREETLIGHTS MAINTENANCE IN THE CITY

The City of Matlosana’s Electrical Department is this week busy with critical streetlights maintenance across the city.

- In the C*D, the team has fixed lights on the R30 from Boom Street and corner OR Tambo and Margaretha Prinsloo Street (Traffic Department to Prison crossing)
- In Doringkruin they have fixed lights on the main streets ie. Muranti and Ian Streets
- N12
- Flamwood
- Adamayview and Irene Park
- Noord Street (Vaal Fisher side) and the high mast light at the Indian Centre next to SAPS
The above is work in progress and it should be noted that priority is given to fixing street lights on main roads.

REFUSE REMOVAL IN FULL SWING ACROSS THE KOSH

The City of Matlosana’s Community Services Department hereby wish to notify residents of Matlosana about the weekly waste collection across the KOSH area.

Refuse will be collected Mondays to Fridays in all towns, surburbs and townships and Saturdays and Sundays in the business areas (C*D). of Klerksdorp.
See the attached schedule for details.

The municipality remains committed to ensuring regular uninterrupted waste collection as part of creating a clean and healthy environment for all resident of Matlosana.

ROADS MAINTENANCE IN IN JOUBERTON

The City of Matlosana’s Roads Department is today busy with critical roads maintenance in Jouberton.

The team is doing road resealing and pothole patching at Ompie Maretlwa Road next to the old Jouberton cemetery and at Jabulani Street between Ext. 2 and Ext. 6.

The City of Matlosana’s Sewer Department is busy doing sewer unblocking around the KOSH area.

Work has been done at the following areas:

1. In Kanana at the following areas:

- House No. 13212 Ext. 10
- House No. 11265
2. In Tigane
- House No. 709 Ext.1
- 4225 Ext. 5

3. In Alabama
- At Rosebank Street
- No 32 Niewenhout Street
- No. 37 Wentworth Street
- No. 2 Nelson Street
- No. 2751 Ext. 3

4. In Stilfontein
- No. 151A Umgeni Road
- No. 14 Rietz Street
- No. 126 Stilfontein Road
- At Dirang Ka Natla High School in Khuma

5. In Jouberton
- At Matlhaleng Secondary School
- No. 18387 Ext. 19
- Roma Ext. 6
- No. 6726 Ext. 12

In addition, the Department is currently busy in other areas around the KOSH.

Foreign objects within the system is still a great concern and members of the public are requested not to throw foreign objects in the system as this result in blockages.

Residents are hereby notified that Eskom will switch off electricity supply to the whole Hartebeesfontein area due to an oil leak on the transformer. The switch off is effective from 12h00 today 10th August 2026. We cannot confirm the time by which power will be restored and we sincerely apologize to the community for the inconvenience caused.

PUBLIC NOTICE: VELD FIRE ADVISORY AND POTENTIAL POWER DISRUPTIONS AT URANIAVILLE INDUSTRIAL SUBSTATION

The City of Matlosana Local Municipality wishes to alert business owners, industrial consumers, and residents of a veld fire currently burning in close proximity to the Uraniaville Industrial Substation.

Our emergency and electrical services are actively monitoring the situation on-site. Due to the heat, smoke, and risk of the fire spreading near high-voltage infrastructure, the municipality advises the public of possible unplanned electricity supply outages affecting the Uraniaville industrial sector and surrounding areas..
