๐Ÿšจ BEWARE OF FAKE JOB OFFERS ๐Ÿšจ
A job opportunity should open doors โ€” not become a trap. Criminal organisations are increasingly using fake job advertisements, particularly on social media, to lure young South Africans into human trafficking, forced labour and other forms of exploitation.
Human trafficking can happen to anyone. Donโ€™t be trapped behind the scam. Be alert. Be informed. Be safe.

STAY ALERT AND STAY SAFE
Following heavy storms and strong winds, danger can persist, as fallen trees, loose structures, flooded roads, damaged power lines and unstable walls may remain hazardous.
Citizens are urged to avoid flooded roads, bridges, streams and rivers and to never walk or drive through moving water, even if it appears shallow.
When travelling, be cautious and watch out for fallen trees, branches, debris, potholes, damaged traffic lights and flooded sections.
Stay clear of any fallen or damaged power lines and treat every fallen electrical cable as live, reporting it to the relevant authorities immediately.
Refrain from spreading unverified information and share only official warnings and updates from authorities and the South African Weather Service.
The storm may have passed, but the hazards may not have. Stay alert and follow more weather updates at https://www.weathersa.co.za/

Sundays River Valley Municipality welcomed two brand-new ambulances from the Department of Health during a district handover held at Sundays Valley Hospital in Nqweba, today.

SRVM received two ambulances as part of a broader allocation by the Department of Health, which also delivered ambulances to Dr Beyers Naudรฉ and Ndlambe Local Municipalities.

The ambulances come as a much-needed intervention following a long period of challenges with Emergency Medical Services in the area. While the two ambulances are still not enough to fully meet the needs of the community, SRVM Mayor, Cllr Solethu Lucas, welcomed their arrival and expressed appreciation for the intervention by the Department.
โ€œWe welcome the new ambulances as they will provide some relief from the challenges our people have been experiencing,โ€ he said.

โ€œWe acknowledge that the two ambulances will not solve all the challenges, but we also welcome the commitment by the Department that more ambulances will be delivered during the course of the financial year,โ€ the mayor added.
Cllr Lucas encouraged EMS personnel to take good care of the new vehicles to ensure their longevity and continued service to communities.
The handover was attended by members of the SRVM Council and representatives from the Department of Health.
