When a Commercial Building of any stature is constructed, the developers will invariably have taken into account the anticipated fire loading, available and cost effective equipment and evacuation. Over time these values and conditions change to accommodate occupancies whether single occupant or multiple tenants and what the actual fire loading is at a given point in time. All too often each installation is a stand alone system with little to no integration.

We are finally in a position to start offering our customers the latest developments to assist in monitoring their critical fire protection equipment. It is long overdue that we employ technologies to assist in identifying device faults, tampering and other instances that reduce and in some cases prevent the ability to defend against fire.

For years we endured the frustration of having to repair custom built Controllers in the pump houses because the architect of the panels isn't available or too busy with other things so the customer's controllers stand inoperable for days and in extreme cases for months. This is not acceptable.

Using the BuzzApex Controllers, there's a touch screen that explains the events, not an amber light on the panel door showing that there's fault as is the case today. The amber light doesn't show what's at fault, that has to be diagnosed.

The number of components and meters of cables has been radically reduced resulting in less that could possibly go into fault. The PCBs (Programmable Circuit Boards) are generic and can be replaced within a few minutes and require no programming at a fraction of the cost of diagnosis by a skilled person.

BuzzApex gives free access to their platform for the logs from the Annunciator Panel transmitted via mobile data or LAN (Local Area Network). Using the same platform, users can define the text stored in the logs and SMS messages sent to specific persons. No more waiting on contractors to program controllers or the annunciator panel.

Shortly, a video will be uploaded that explains in details the benefits of the BuzzApex Panels and their Platform. The image of the PCBs shows the scope of the elements that are rigorously tested before installation.

Almost ready to start their own adventures as their nesting area is outgrown. Blessed with good parents, all three have grown well and are starting to develop adult plumage ready for that first flight.

When the company bought the premises for its new offices and workshops, the decision was made that every effort would be made to preserve the large and old trees on the property. Admittedly they're not indigenous to South Africa, but they offer so much to our work environment and the birds do enjoy the fruits some produce.

Two years ago we had an owl and her partner establish a nest in the arc of two branches on the oak tree outside our office window. She produced two chicks which she raised to maturity.

Last year she returned, laid two eggs and while nesting it's believed that she ate a rat that had been poisoned and subsequently became ill and died. A kind lady who specialises in rescue of wildlife took the eggs and one fortunately hatched.

This year a pair of owls of the same species arrived and the female has adopted the same spot in the old oak tree. It's unknown if she is from the same brood two years ago or if it's the same male bringing a different female to the tree. Irrespective, she's been on the eggs for the past two weeks and we should shortly start to see the chicks.

The digital platform that manages everything that IBR Fire does from quotes to completed work just got bigger with the launch of hardware. Now our customers can receive an SMS for Fire and Fault conditions be it from the Fire Detection Panels or the pump house. It has escalation to ensure that one of the Profiles in the database sent an sms has responded.

Every event from Controllers and Detection Panels is indelibly saved onto the database in the BuzzApex Cloud for future review and fault finding. Serves as evidence of compliance should it ever be required for insurance claims and is protected by login credentials and permissions.

There's more benefits because faults could be identified remotely possibly avoiding the need to despatch service technicians unnecessarily or wasting time because the scope of the repair wasn't known at the time of despatching the teams which inflates the cost of the repairs.

The news gets better - the annunciator panel is both GSM and LAN capable and can be fitted with touch screen that displays analogue inputs from RPM to voltage and draw on each phase supply. We feel developer's pain, we too have had to invest in fire protection for our buildings. This 250,000 litre water tank provides water to the hydrants as the municipal supply isn't adequate to needs. The pump house is the brick building to the right

Our new building is now up and almost ready for occupancy. Still making up my mind whether to use it for IBR Fire or make it available for rental.
