*1. Introduction*
Sukuma Sakhe Isizwe NPO is a community-based organization committed to addressing gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) and broader social justice issues in South Africa. We began operations with zero budget, driven solely by community need and volunteer commitment. Despite resource constraints, we have successfully established our presence and are actively supporting survivors, including through services rendered within SAPS station premises.

*2. Context: Starting from Zero*
Launching an NPO without seed funding means founders absorb all costs โ€” transport, printing, airtime, counseling materials, and compliance fees โ€” while delivering services unpaid. This reality is shared by many grassroots organizations. Yet, once operational, we are expected to meet the same compliance and reporting standards as well-funded, established NGOs.

*3. Key Challenges Experienced by Sukuma Sakhe Isizwe NPO*
Challenge Impact
**Lack of Recognition** Despite active case work and station-based support, we are often excluded from district GBVF forums, stakeholder meetings, and government planning sessions.
**Funding Inaccessibility** Most government funding calls require 2โ€“3 years audited financials, track record, and existing infrastructure โ€” criteria that automatically disqualify new NPOs.
**Administrative Barriers** Complex application forms, compliance requirements, and M&E frameworks assume dedicated admin staff, which zero-budget NPOs do not have.
**Overlooked Despite Service Delivery** We assist survivors directly at station level, reducing secondary victimization and improving
