90th Edition of the Know India Programme (KIP) 2026

The Consulate General of India, Johannesburg invites young members of the Indian diaspora to apply for the 90th Edition of the Know India Programme (KIP), a flagship initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

The programme provides an opportunity for young Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) aged 24–28 years to reconnect with their Indian roots and experience the India of today.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore India's rich art, heritage, culture, economy, innovation, start-ups, science and technology, as the country progresses towards Viksit Bharat @2047.

India's trade with BRICS nations has crossed $417 billion in 2025–26, more than doubling over five years; reflecting deepening economic ties.

With merchandise exports reaching $96 billion, new avenues are emerging in pharma, electronics, agriculture, renewable energy and digital services.

Hindi Day Celebrations 2026

As part of Hindi Day Celebrations 2026, the Consulate General of India, Johannesburg will organise an Essay writing Competition on 23 September at 4:00 PM in the Board Room of the Consulate.

A Poem Recitation and Hasya Kavi Sammelan will be held on 1 October at 4:00 PM in the Consulate Auditorium. These endeavours aim to promote the love, use and appreciation of the Hindi language and encourage creative expression among participants.
