Job Title: Project Manager
Reports to: The General Manager
Salary Scale: R18 000 – R 20 000.00 Gross Salary
Term: Full-Time/ Permanent
Responsibilities:
• Manage project life cycle and timelines.
• Define all the project ex*****on scopes, work breakdown structures, schedules, and objectives.
• Develop and maintain a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress of multiple projects.
• Maintain monthly overview of project budgets, monitor variations, timely invoicing, and reporting.
• Oversee all safety and management of stock, materials, equipment, and resources on site.
• Understanding of fire compliance and regulations as per the South African National Standards.
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/contractors for the successful ex*****on of projects.
• Implement and monitor procurement procedures per project.
• Oversee employee timesheets.
• Conduct regular inspections on the quality of work done by the team on a regular basis.
• Manage and coordinate the team’s shifts as per the required demand as per the project schedule.
• Liase with management on the required equipment needed for hire or to procure on site for the duration of the project or company.
• Must have a basic understanding of designs, calculations, sketches of buildings and fire systems etc.
• Submit reports that outline progress of work on a weekly basis for all projects.
• Compile technical project tenders and proposals and ensure technical compliance for all tender submissions.
• Will be required to work extended hours or some weekends during the duration of projects.
• Manage changes to scope, delays, quality issues, cost overruns and all foreseeable variables during the project.
Qualifications and other minimum requirements
• Grade 12 National Senior certificate
• Diploma or equivalent in Project Management or Mechanical/ Civil Engineering
• Valid driver's license / Own reliable vehicle
Relevant experience & skills
• 2- 3 years’ experience in fire maintenance projects.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software systems.
• Knowledge of fire installations, smoke detection and sprinkler systems
• Computer literate, Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Projects
• Basic financial comprehension pertaining to budgets, estimations, cost control and reporting.
• Previously worked on a live site, will be advantageous.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
• Requires an energetic and driven employee that is a self-starter who can take ownership of all technical and project-related aspects.
• Good understanding of principles of health, safety, environmental and quality in the workplace.
