Today we honour the brave young people of 1976 whose courage helped shape the South Africa we know today.

As a child and youth care organisation, we are reminded every day of the incredible potential within our young people. By nurturing, protecting, and empowering children, we help build a future filled with hope, opportunity, and possibility.

Together, let us continue investing in the next generation and celebrating the power of youth to learn, lead, and create lasting change.

💚It Takes a Village💙

In May, we had the privilege of celebrating the heart-warming housewarming of our YOUTHSPACE satellite house - a place where eight vulnerable children can experience safety, stability, belonging, and hope.

To everyone who joined us, supported us, shared in the day, and welcomed the boys into the community: THANK YOU. Your presence reminded us that a home is not built by walls alone, but by the people who choose to show up, care, and walk alongside others.

One of the boys, Greg* (18), shared these powerful words during the celebration:
“I am standing up here today to speak on behalf of myself and 7 other boys who live here. We are a pretty diverse group. But despite our differences, the 8 of us share a bond that is unbreakable. We are brothers. And, this place is our anchor.
By choosing to support us, you aren't just signing up to be sponsors. You are becoming a part of the foundation that keeps this house standing. You are the reason we can look toward the future with hope instead of fear”.

These words remind us why community matters. Thank you for helping create a place where children can feel safe, supported, and empowered to build their futures.

From all of us at Abraham Kriel Bambanani, and especially the boys who now call this house their home, THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF OUR VILLAGE😇🙏.

As Child Protection Week draws to a close, it is important to remember that while the week may end, the work does not.

Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. serves as an important reminder that protecting children is a responsibility we all share - every day of the year.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Helen Joseph Hospital team for inviting us to be part of their Child Protection Week campaign. Our Westbury Family Care team was incredibly proud to contribute to this meaningful initiative and to stand alongside others who are committed to safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of children.

We are especially proud to be a voice for vulnerable children who need love, care, protection, and support. Together, we can create communities where every child is seen, heard, valued, and protected.

💙💚 CHILD PROTECTION WEEK AWARENESS 💚💙

Our Soweto Family Care programmes, Child and Youth Care Workers (CYCWs), hosted an educational and informative "Awareness Through Dialogue and Puppet Show" at Ebuhleni Primary School as part of Child Protection Week.

Through engaging discussions, interactive activities, and a creative puppet show, learners were empowered with important knowledge about child safety, protection, and their rights.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff and learners of Ebuhleni Primary School for welcoming us and participating in this important conversation. 😇🙏

Together, through education and awareness, we can continue building safer communities and protecting every child.
