Acting on information received regarding a kidnapping & armed robbery case registered at Alexandra SAPS, TRU officers proceeded to a house on Hofmeyer Street, Alexandra.
Upon arrival, officers found three males asleep inside the house who matched the descriptions of the suspects being sought. A search of the room was conducted, resulting in the discovery of two fi****ms.

The suspects failed to produce valid licences or documentation for the fi****ms & were subsequently arrested for kidnapping, armed robbery, as well as possession of unlicensed fi****ms. The three suspects were detained at Alexandra SAPS for further investigation.

Informal traders perishable & non-perishable goods may be impounded if you trade illegally or without the required permit. Obtain the necessary permit from local municipality & use only designated trading areas.

Keep the City clean by disposing of waste responsibly, keeping your trading space tidy & ensuring that goods, packaging & refuse do not obstruct pavements, roads, or public spaces.

Do not set up clothing or any other goods on streets or in parks to start an informal trading business.

Trading on any street or road without permission from the local municipality is illegal & creates clutter on public roads.

Informal Trading By-Laws enforcement was conducted by operations officers in Devland surrounding areas. Goods were impounded👇🏻

While conducting patrols along the N12 & Impala Road, operations officers noticed a vehicle that appeared to be unroadworthy. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver failed to comply & sped off. A pursuit ensued with the officers following the vehicle until it was brought to a stop along Sunrise Street in Protea Glen.

The driver was arrested for failing to stop on an officer’s instruction, resisting arrest & allegedly assaulting a police officer. The suspect was detained at Moroka SAPS for further investigation.

Members of the public are reminded that failing to comply with a lawful instruction from a police officer & assaulting an officer who is performing official duties are offences. Law enforcement officers must be allowed to perform their duties without intimidation, obstruction or violence.

operations officers found two men digging on municipal land along Mendhi Street Extension 13 in Lenasia. The men were unable to produce a wayleave authorising the work. The officers instructed them to stop digging as the activity constituted a by-law infringement.

The officers impounded the tools being used (one spade & one digging pick) &issued the men with an impoundment notice.

While conducting crime prevention patrols, TRU officers were approached by a member of the public at the corner of Beatrice & Golden Highway in Lenasia South.
The motorist informed the officers that he had been hijacked the previous day along Provincial Road & Golden Highway in Lenasia. He further advised that he had spotted his hijacked vehicle entering the Magson Manor residential area.

The officers immediately followed up on the information provided, which led them to a house where the vehicle was found. A woman was found at the property & upon searching the premises, officers recovered the stolen motor vehicle. The victim was brought to the scene & positively identified the vehicle as his. The vehicle was subsequently seized & booked in at the Lenasia SAPS pound.

During the search of the premises, officers also recovered a SAPS uniform which the woman could not account for. She was taken in for further questioning. While officers continued searching for the other suspects, members of the community alerted them after spotting the main suspect. A foot chase ensued, resulting in the apprehension of one male suspect. A second suspect, who was allegedly linked to the hijacking, later handed himself over to the police.
The suspects were detained at Lenasia South SAPS where a case of possession of suspected stolen property was opened.

While on patrol, K9 officers received an anonymous tip-off regarding suspicious activities in Zola North, Soweto. Officers proceeded to the location, where they encountered a suspect who attempted to flee but was apprehended.

During the search, officers found a pouch in his pocket containing suspected crystal methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested for the possession of illegal substances & detained at Jabulani SAPS.

K9 officers received a lookout for a charcoal-grey Volkswagen Polo that was reported hijacked & sought in connection with a Roodepoort SAPS case.
The vehicle’s GPS coordinates as per VumaCam indicated that it was stationary on Columbine Street in Mondeor. Officers proceeded to the location & spotted the vehicle abandoned. The vehicle was seized & booked in at the Aeroton SAPS Pound.
