Yesterday together with MMC Jack Sekwaila, we were at the Traduna Building for a meeting with the Tirong Community representatives to address long standing issues relating to billing by Johannesburg Water and City Power and the revenue department.

Through collaboration, accountability, and active community engagement we were able to develop practical, sustainable solutions to restore public confidence, strengthen service delivery and improve the quality of life for the people of the Tirong Estate.

Last night, we joined local government leaders at the SALGA Municipal Audit Awards to celebrate excellence in governance and service delivery. The City of Johannesburg was recognised for excellence in Environment, Waste Management and Climate Change, while Joburg Theatre and Joburg Market received Clean Audit Awards.

These achievements reflect our commitment to accountability, good governance and sustainable service delivery for all our residents.

A special thank you to the employees who helped us achieve this greatness.

Following the early morning Revenue Collection Drive in Midrand, we attended the SALGA Governance and Intergovernmental Relations (GIGR) National Working Group meeting.

The meeting brought together local government leaders from across South Africa to engage on key governance and intergovernmental matters aimed at strengthening accountability, ethical leadership, and building capable municipalities that deliver quality services to communities.

Tampering with the City’s infrastructure is illegal. We will not allow lawlessness in our City. We will not tolerate the theft of municipal revenue which deprives residents of receiving services. This business owes the city 4million and are illegally connected after they were disconnected last month. They also have an illigal billboard that they are renting out and have shacks with tenants at the back in a commercially zoned property!

A case of vandalism (malicious damage to property) has been opened and it is a serious punishable criminal offense! We are warning businesses and property owners ‼️ ⚠️ DoNotConnectilligally
