🎙️Speaking earlier today at the Facilities Management Conference 2026, held at Walter Sisulu University’s Potsdam Campus, Services SETA Executive Manager: Strategy and Insights, Mamabele Motla, called on industry leaders to play an active role in advancing skills development within the sector.
She urged employers to “open up workplaces for graduate training placements”, noting that Services SETA offers an NQF Level 6 qualification in facilities management, with graduates requiring annual workplace placements to complete their training.
Motla also emphasised the importance of collaboration between industry and SETAs, adding that businesses have a critical role to play in identifying in-demand skills.
“We are calling on the industry to help identify the critical skills needed to close existing gaps, so that SETAs can invest in targeted skills development initiatives,” she said.
