Today was more than just restoring electricity β€” it was restoring dignity, hope, and faith.
After 10 long years without electricity, the lights are finally back on for Mr De Klerk and his family. This has been a journey I have walked with them since the by-election, and today we saw that promises made with sincerity can become promises kept.
The tears of joy, the gratitude, and the emotion in that home today said more than words ever could.
For me, leadership is not about politics or empty talk β€” it is about showing up, listening to people’s struggles, and working to improve lives. I know the daily challenges many families in Ward 2 face, and I remain committed to being present and helping wherever I can.
Today belongs to the De Klerk family. May their home be filled with light, peace, and new beginnings.
This is why we serve. This is why we care. This is why we keep working.

Today I conducted an oversight visit in Tuna Street together with Cllr J. Alexander, MMC for Electrical and Mechanical Services, following reports of damaged electrical cables in the area.
During the visit, cables that had been exposed on the surface were inspected and the necessary repairs were attended to. Ensuring that our electrical infrastructure is safe and properly maintained remains a priority for the safety of our residents.
It is always encouraging when residents acknowledge and appreciate service delivery. Moments like these remind us why oversight and working together with the relevant departments are so important.
Thank you to MMC Alexander and the Electrical team for responding and assisting.
Together we continue working to keep Ward 2 safe and functional.

Service delivery in action this morning in Duine Weg Pellsrus
Our roads team is currently busy repairing potholes to improve safety and driving conditions for residents. Thank you to the team on site for their dedication and hard work.
We know road maintenance is an ongoing need in Ward 2, and while we may not fix everything at once, work is happening and progress is being made.
If you notice potholes in your area, please continue reporting them so we can ensure they are logged and attended to.
Together, we keep Ward 2 moving forward.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS – ILLEGAL DUMPING
Today, several illegal dumping sites in Ward 2 were attended to and cleaned. We are aware that illegal dumping remains a serious challenge in our area, and while it may sometimes take time to address every site, please be assured that the work does get done.
As your Ward Councillor, I remain committed to supporting and assisting with cleaning operations wherever possible. However, keeping Ward 2 clean is a shared responsibility.
I kindly appeal to all residents to help us protect our environment by: β€’ Not dumping illegally
β€’ Reporting illegal dumping
β€’ Encouraging neighbours to dispose of waste responsibly
Together, we can make a real difference.
Let us work hand in hand to Keep Ward 2 Clean.
Kind regards,
Cllr Bonita Moos
Ward 2 Councillor
