A Little Warmth on a Stormy Day

In between responding to the weather-related incidents across Hout Bay today, one of our responders came across a group of children waiting for transport that wasn’t arriving any time soon.

Knowing that the children’s only other option was to walk home in the storm, our responder picked them up and transported them to IY, making sure they got home safely🫶

Thank You for Your Reports This Morning, Hout Bay!

Our responders were out this morning locating and pinning the exact positions of fallen trees and branches reported to CCP’s Control Room - and you know it was a proper stormy morning when one of our responders arrived at a fallen tree and simply said: “We’re going to need some chainsaws.”

Thank you, Hout Bay, for reporting these incidents and for helping remove obstructions where it was safe to do so. Your updates and assistance helped our Control Room direct response resources to the correct locations as quickly as possible.

We are also relieved to confirm that the driver of the vehicle struck by a fallen tree was not injured🫶

Please continue to stay safe and take extra care on the roads:

* Minimise driving where possible
* Drive slowly and with caution
* Watch for fallen branches, debris and slippery roads
