Water Supply Update

Lesedi Local Municipality is pleased to inform residents that repairs to the burst pipelines and other scheduled maintenance have been successfully completed. Water supply has now been restored to the system, and the process of recharging and stabilising the network is currently underway.
Our technical teams remain on site and are closely monitoring the system to ensure a smooth recovery and to address any operational challenges that may arise during the stabilisation period. Residents may experience varying water pressure levels as the system gradually returns to normal.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank residents for their patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout the repair process.

Water Supply Update
Lesedi Local Municipality would like to inform residents that, following the restoration of water supply after the recent Rand Water maintenance , a number of water pipeline failures were experienced within our network due to increased system pressure associated with the resumption of bulk water supply.
As a result, pipe bursts and localized flooding have been reported in parts of Jameson Park, Bergsig and Heidelberg Kloof. Our technical teams, working in collaboration with Rand Water, are currently on site attending to the affected sections of the network and implementing the necessary repairs.
To facilitate repair work and stabilize the system, the Municipality has requested Rand Water to temporarily reduce water supply to the Municipality. This intervention is aimed at enabling technicians to safely repair all damaged pipelines and restore normal operations as efficiently as possible. Residents who are currently receiving water will continue to receive supply of water during this process.
At present, the only areas experiencing water supply interruptions are Extensions 23 and 26, as well as Obed Nkosi. Water tankers have been deployed to these areas to provide interim relief to affected residents while repairs are underway.
The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents as we work to restore full system functionality. Further updates will be communicated as repair work progresses.

Water Supply Update: Ratanda

Lesedi Local Municipality would like to inform residents that our technical team was working at the Heidelberg Reservoir, where a water Level control valve was installed on a 6 Mega liter Ground Reservoir.

This upgrade forms part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to improve water infrastructure management and enhance the reliability of the water supply system. The installation of the valve control system will assist in accurately monitoring reservoir levels and preventing water spillages that previously occurred when the reservoir reached full capacity.

The improvement will contribute towards better water conservation, improved operational efficiency, and sustainable management of the municipality’s water resources.

This upgrade has unexpectedly hindered the water supply to Ratanda temporarily. We are anticipating that water supply will resume in the late evening again for Ratanda, until the announced Rand water interruption. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
