Power has been restored, thank you for your patience.

Power supply interruption ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Jamesonpark: The municipality is aware that the area is without electricity supply since Monday the 31st Dec 2018, this is due to multiple collapsed and faulty power lines triggered by the weather, supplying the area from a nearby Eskom substation.

Repair works couldn’t be done then because of the wet and muddy weather conditions. Our Electrical Technicians are currently on site working with diligence to restore power. It is anticipated that at least by around 5-6pm electricity supply should be restored to the affected area.

THE 2018 YEAR END MESSAGE
EXECUTIVE MAYOR: CLLR. LERATO MALOKA

It is yet another time for me to wish you happy holidays, joyous festive season and a prosperous new year. As we approach the year end it gives an opportunity to take stock and marvel on how productive this year has been. Most of the infrastructure and service delivery deliverables per our IDP priorities have been positively achieved as we continue to improve the lives of our communities.

Through the Thuthukisa Service delivery programme linked with the Gauteng Premier’s Office, we have managed to fast track, address and improve service delivery backlogs. The construction of our fully-fledged 24hrs Customer Care Services Centre has played an instrumental role in assisting on how we effectively deal with service delivery complains through its Case Management System that dispatches complains to the relevant department for attention.

I have to boast, this milestone has enabled the Municipality to contribute positively to the Gauteng 5th Edition City Region Observatory 2018 Quality of Life Survey (GCRO) indicating that indeed we are on the right direction. Our municipality is becoming financially viable, and this is realised by the commitment of our residents to pay for municipal services, it is indeed a right thing to do and highly appreciated. In this mammoth task of bettering the lives our people, challenges are inevitable, and it is how we tackled them that bring positives outcomes. I have to accept that though we have encountered difficulties that we overcame it is our continuous commitment that we are still on par to deliver acceptable services as per our local government mandate.

It is my wish that this holidays season becomes a chance for all of us to find ways to bridge our differences and lift up those around us. Our hearts go out to all those who have lost their loved ones this year, and as per tradition as we will be gathering with our loved ones this holidays season let us take time out to further think of those who are destitute and less fortunate, learn ways and means to extend a hand of human solidarity to care, share the little we have and define with kindness the meaning of giving.

To those who are travelling to visit family and friends in different parts of the land, may you have a safe trip and those visiting our municipal area I welcome you in the region, hope you enjoy your stay.

On behalf of the Lesedi Local Municipality Council, Management and administration, I will like to wish you content holidays season and a prosperous New Year – Happy 2019.
