LoveAbility

LoveAbility A group of people with disabilities making functional gifts, crafts and other goodies in support of the disabled community in Hermanus. ABILITY was born.

In 2009 the Overberg Wheelchair Association started an informal work group in an attempt to train members in various arts and crafts. The group met once a week at the Thusong Municipal Centre in Hawston. In 2010 the municipality made a space at the Center available for use as a permanent studio. In 2014 funding became available through the Global fund. Applications were made by 5 members. Their ap

plications were approved and Love. New premises were made available at the Hawston Secondary School and work began in earnest and our product range was expanded. As a result of the variety of physical disabilities within the group our product range is quite diverse. Slowly the group have found their skills and settled into manufacturing a delightful range of products. We have subsequently moved to permanent premises at the St Andrews Church in Hawston and invite you to visit us there to purchase the products we make.
