The EFFYC UP welcomes there decision of Thrive Student Living to dissolve top up for basic sharing rooms. We call upon all providers to follow through, this will be a process that we carefully inspect through and through. We additionally thank all students who have shown a defiant, revolutionary spirit of resistance throughout this cause.

We remain dissatisfied with the fact that non-rental affiliated fees have not been dissolved and done with, we continue to demand this as per NSFAS circular and we will proceed to continue to fight to our best ability to ensure that no similar or related exploitative fees are imposed on our students.

Revolutionary greetings to the UP student populace. No private accommodation has a right to kidnap any student based on them owing, students must be allowed to go home and come back without any problems.

Any student who faces restriction from leaving must immediately contact the EFFYC UP so we can attend to the issue effectively and immediately.

Revolutionary greetings fighters and students of the University of Pretoria, the EFFYC UP will be conducting a Guerilla visit to TMM Lofts as we have been briefed that the building does not have backup water. For an accommodation to be accredited they must have stable utility supplies which include backup water and electricity. The lack of backup water poses a danger to our students in terms of hygiene, health and other crucial factors and as the EFFYC UP we will not allow such incompetence. We call upon all TMM Lofts residents to join

Revolutionary greetings to all students of the University of Pretoria, the EFFYC UP wishes you all the best in your exams. We also encourage those with any relevant challenges to contact the EFFYC UP as we are always available to advocate for students. We wish all students the best in their exams, those who could not qualify, there is always room for improvement and it is not the end of the world, we can always do better.

Students who are at risk of academic exclusion must not worry as the EFFYC UP will launch the second semester to assist, please reach out to us.

Revolutionary greetings fighters and the greater student populace of the University of Pretoria. The EFFYC UP went to the relevant offices and SAPS to receive updates regarding the r**e case.

We were reliably briefed that Andile Mfusi has been arrested and is in police custody, we were additionally briefed that he will go to a bail hearing tomorrow morning.

Furthermore, the University has suspended him and the accommodation which he resided in, Respublica Hatfield Square has given him an eviction notice, making him no longer a tenant in the building.

We welcome all these updates and we are prepared to fight until all the victims get justice unconditionally.

We also encourage all other victims of R**e, GBV and sexual assault to speak out so that they can also get justice because we will not allow rapists to exist in our society, if fixing the country starts with us then so shall it be. Students who have faced similar or related incidents must report the cases to the EFFYC UP GBV & Sexual assault desk on: [email protected]

We thank all the students who came when we called for an immediate gathering, your presence was highly appreciated.
