Police Constable Arrested for Corruption:

A SAPS constable was arrested for corruption at Delft SAPS in the Western Cape on Monday, 31 August 2026.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Unit into a missing case docket.

Investigators identified the police member allegedly linked to the missing docket and arrested him.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court on 2 September 2026.
Western Cape Provincial Commissioner Lt Gen Sizakhele Dyantyi warned SAPS members involved in corruption that such conduct will not be tolerated.

Videomateriaal wat op sosiale mediaplatforms soos News Nexus SA op Facebook en Instagram gedeel is, wys kleinhandel- of sekuriteitspersoneel wat toegang weier aan die gesiggestremde heer, vergesel van sy werkende diensdier. Wetlike regte vir hulphonde in Suid-Afrika.

Die voorval het hernude aandag gebring aan die wetlike status van diens- en gidshonde in kleinhandelruimtes.

Beskerming van openbare toegang:

Wettiglik word gesertifiseerde gids- en hulphonde ten volle toegelaat in alle openbare ruimtes, insluitend supermarkte, restaurante en openbare vervoer. Hulle word nie as troeteldiere geklassifiseer nie.

Gesertifiseerde honde, soos dié wat deur die Suid-Afrikaanse Gidshondevereniging opgelei is, dra tipies 'n duidelike leerharnas met 'n metaalhandvatsel terwyl hulle werk en kry amptelike ID-kaarte om aan sake-eienaars te toon.

Grondwetlike Raamwerk: Om toegang aan 'n individu te weier weens hul gesertifiseerde diensdier, oortree die Wet op die Bevordering van Gelykheid en Voorkoming van Onbillike Diskriminasie (PEPUDA), aangesien dit onbillike diskriminasie op grond van gestremdheid uitmaak.

Voorgestelde Wetgewing: Politieke en belangegroepe het aangedring op verdere wetlike steun, soos die voorgestelde Wetsontwerp op Toegang tot Hulpdiere, wat daarop gemik is om 'n nasionale lisensiëringstelsel te formaliseer en streng boetes of gevangenisstraf te implementeer vir enige onderneming wat toegang aan 'n gelisensieerde hulpdier weier.

Sleeping Woman Mistaken For Dumped Co**se: Mount Vernon - KZN

Two separate callers contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) today (Monday, 31/08/2026) requesting assistance after they believed that a human body had been dumped alongside an unpaved road in Mount Vernon - KZN.

Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were dispatched to investigate. On arrival, they located an individual tightly wrapped in a white cloth on an embankment.

While First Responders were examining the individual, the 26-year-old female became responsive and explained that she had been sleeping.

She declined to provide further information, covered herself with the cloth and returned back to sleep.

Monique’s school friends later informed her mother that Monique had been communicating with an older gentleman.

LAST SEEN WEARING:
Black crop-top T-shirt and pink/light mauve wide-leg pants. Her ash-blonde hair was tied in a high ponytail.

I had to read her message twice. Twenty-seven. And the system’s answer? Forced visitation with the one who hurt them. Think about that. We would never make an adult sit across from their abuser. Never. But somehow, a terrified child is expected to.

I’m not talking about every case. I see the parents who fight, who love, who show up. This isn’t about them. This is about the reckless, the ones who hurt kids, and the system that enables them.

Kids pay for every excuse, every delay, every “let’s give them another chance.” They tremble in those rooms. They hide. They leave broken again, carrying trauma no child should ever bear. And the adults in charge? They call it “procedure.”

This is cruelty. This is abuse. This is a system that values forms over human life, policy over protection, bureaucracy over love.

I’m sick. I’m furious. And I will say it loud: these kids deserve safety, not forced fear. They deserve protection, not the illusion of justice. And we need to stop pretending this is ok.

If you think forcing a child to relive abuse is “best for them,” you’re part of the problem. And yes, I’m angry. I’m screaming for every child who has no voice, no shield, no one truly fighting for them.
