UMUZIWABANTU MUNICIPALITY CONTINUES JOINT COMPLIANCE OPERATIONS IN HARDING CBD
Umuziwabantu Local Municipality continues to work with law enforcement agencies and government stakeholders to strengthen compliance, public safety, consumer protection, and lawful trading in Harding CBD.
Today's joint operation included Harding SAPS, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Immigration officials,, Umuziwabantu Law Enforcement, and Fire and Disaster Management.
During the blitz, businesses were inspected for hygiene, expired goods, licensing, fire safety, immigration compliance, and general trading conditions. Two shops were closed due to health-related non-compliance, eight illegal containers were removed after allegedly ignoring several warnings, and expired or non-compliant goods were confiscated.
The Municipality will continue these operations to ensure lawful trading, protect residents, address illegal immigration concerns through the relevant authorities, and maintain safer business environments.
