UMUZIWABANTU MAYOR ENCOURAGES LEARNERS AT CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAMME HELD AT SEHOLE HIGH SCHOOL

Umuziwabantu Municipality Mayor, Cllr Siboniso Zungu, joined learners, educators, and various stakeholders at Sehole High School for a Career Guidance Programme aimed at empowering young people with information about career opportunities and educational pathways.

The programme provided learners with valuable guidance on career choices, tertiary education requirements, bursary opportunities, and the importance of academic excellence. Representatives from Department of Health, EDTEA, GCIS, IEC, Umuziwabantu Library Unit, and Umuziwabantu Disaster Unit shared insights into their professions, helping learners gain a better understanding of the skills and qualifications needed to succeed in various fields.

Addressing the learners, Mayor Zungu encouraged them to remain focused on their studies and to take advantage of opportunities available to them. He emphasized the importance of education as a tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

The Mayor also highlighted the municipality's commitment to supporting youth development initiatives and creating opportunities that empower young people to achieve their goals.

Learners actively participated in the programme by engaging with presenters, asking questions about career paths, and seeking advice on further studies and employment opportunities. The session was well received and provided inspiration and motivation for learners as they prepare for life beyond high school.

The Career Guidance Programme forms part of ongoing efforts to equip young people with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about their future careers and contribute positively to the development of their communities.
