Yesterday, 9 August 2020, KwaZulu-Natal Province recorded 2 419 new cases.

KwaZulu-Natal Province contributed 36% of the new cases nationally.

The province had been contributing more than a third of the new cases daily for the past seven days.

The province has recorded 11 new COVID-19 related deaths.

These deaths did not happen in the past 24 hours. Due to late reporting and high number of patients dying as persons under investigation (PUIs), there is a delay in reporting deaths.
