A simple question posed by ten-year-old Peggy Rubidge, "๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐บ, ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ข๐ณ๐ฆ ๐ง๐ฐ๐ด๐ด๐ช๐ญ๐ด ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ ๐ฅ๐ฐ ๐บ๐ฐ๐ถ ๐ง๐ช๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฎ?" sparked a remarkable 90-year journey that would lead to the eventual establishment of Karoo Origins - The Fossil Centre.
On a family picnic in April 1934, Peggy made ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฒ๐
๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐: a significant fossil skull that would change their lives forever.
This prompted her father, Sidney Rubidge, to reach out to Dr. Robert Broom, the newly appointed palaeontologist at the Transvaal Museum in Pretoria.
This pivotal moment ignited Sidneyโs passion for paleontology, leading him to collect numerous fossils and ultimately creating the world-renowned ๐ฅ๐๐ฏ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ด๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐๐๐ถ๐น ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป.
