A rainbow over the lighthouse at Cape Recife. As a child I was told that the rainbow is a sign that the bad weather is over, hopefully the rain is over and good weather will prevail for a while.

I am not in the Eastern Cape for the moment but from the alerts on my phone I can tell that rain is still falling. Rather stay at home and be careful if you are travelling. Remember that the rain will end and that you and the Cape Recife Lighthouse might be blessed with a rainbow.

A massive cold front is on it's way to Port Elizabeth and I photographed the approaching clouds in Sedgefield in the Western Cape. The schools in PE have been closed and take great care if you have to drive in this weather. If you are staying at the Cape Recife Lighthouse for the next day to two enjoy the experience, it will be amazing surrounded by the wild weather!

One of the quietest and almost secret beaches for you to discover lies between the Cape Recife Lighthouse and the Pati Car Park. It is an easy walk, the scenery is beautiful and there is lots to find on the beaches and along the shoreline.
