AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS
CALL TO ACTION TO ALL ANC STRUCTURES

Our Region has been severely affected by devastating storms and floods, leaving many of our communities displaced, vulnerable, and in desperate need of support.

In the true spirit of ubuntu, solidarity, and selfless service, we call upon all ANC structures, volunteers, and Branch leadership to mobilise urgently and assist our people with humanitarian aid and relief efforts.

While we must never politicise a disaster, it remains the historic responsibility of the ANC, as the trusted leader of society, to stand firmly with our communities during times of hardship, pain, and crisis. The movement must lead from the front β€” visible amongst the people, offering hope, support, and practical assistance.

Let us unite our strength and demonstrate the caring character of our movement through action and compassion.

Forward to community solidarity!
Forward to people’s power!
Amandla! ✊🏾

Comradely Yours,

Cde Moyisi Magalela
RTT Coordinator

The results of this by-election mark a significant and encouraging political milestone. From 405 votes in 2021 and 400 in 2024, the ANC has grown to 764 votes in 2026β€”an increase of nearly 89%. We commend our candidate for demonstrating strength, focus, and principled leadership throughout the campaign. This was not merely an electoral contest, but a vital step in rebuilding relationships, restoring confidence, and reaffirming the ANC’s role as a trusted partner of the community.

ANC CONDEMNS THE CIRCULATION OF A VIDEO ON SOCIAL MEDIA

The ANC in the Victor Molosi Region strongly condemns the circulation of a video showing a teacher filming learners in a classroom during what was referred to as β€œPie Day.” In the video, one child is seen without a pie while other learners are eating.

This incident raises serious concerns about the conduct of the teacher and the treatment of learners in the classroom. Filming and highlighting a child in such circumstances is irresponsible and may amount to humiliation and a violation of the child’s dignity and rights.

This action has caused serious uproar within the community and has angered many residents, who are now calling for accountability and appropriate consequences for both the teacher involved and the school.

In a society already facing deep levels of poverty and social challenges, actions that embarrass or single out a child are unacceptable. Schools must remain safe and supportive spaces that protect the dignity and well-being of every learner.

The National Government introduced the National School Nutrition Programme to ensure that learners receive meals at school, addressing the social welfare needs of children while promoting dignity and equality among all learners.

We therefore call on the Department of Education in the Eden and Central Karoo District to act swiftly in addressing this matter. We also urge the Principal of Thembalethu Primary School to take immediate steps, including the precautionary suspension of the teacher pending a full and fair investigation.

Furthermore, we call on the Department of Education to ensure that the learner involved receives proper psychological support to safeguard their well-being.
