Sjoe, kan jy dit glo? Ons het al 100 maal stilgestaan by Kolossense. Kolossense bevat soveel waarhede. ’n Mens kan sien dis ’n Goddelike Woord. Geen mens kon dit so reggekry het nie. “Dankie, Vader, vir U inspraak en dat ons 2 000 jaar later steeds by U voete uit U Woord kan leer!”

Ja, dis wat ons moet doen. Ons moet op ons knieë neerval en vir God bedank vir alles wat ons van Hom kry. So maklik raak ons gewoond aan alles rondom ons dat ons d**k dit moet so wees. Ons moet elke oggend opstaan. Ons moet kos hê. Ons moet gesond wees. Maar vra maar vir mense waar die voorafgaande net eenvoudig opgedroog het, dan besef jy dat jy 100% afhanklik is van God se genade.

Ons het net een lewe. Daar is nie nog ’n kans nie. As jou gesondheid ingekonk het en daar geen geneesmiddel is nie, kan ons nie na die naaste garage stap en die oue gaan inruil vir ’n nuwe nie. Het jy al ooit so daaraan ged**k? Net een pakkie lewe en nêrens nog ’n pakkie om te koop nie.

Wanneer ons dan in die oggend wakker word en besef dat God ons nog ’n kans gee, dat Hy nog steeds vir ons sorg en toesien dat al die parte werk, kan ons nie anders as om op ons knieë neer te val en vir God dankie te sê vir al die genade wat Hy so aanhoudend oor ons laat reën nie. Ja, alles, maar alles is net genade.

Eintlik nóg meer as dit – ons sê nie net dankie nie. Ons hele lewe is dan ’n lewe van dankbaarheid. Alles wat ons doen, wys terug na ons dankbaarheid teenoor God. Selfs wanneer ons ons vriende reghelp, is dit uit dankbaarheid vir wat God vir ons gedoen het. 16… Leer mekaar wat reg en verkeerd is. As iemand ’n fout maak, help hom reg. Gebruik ook psalms en ander liedere om dit te doen. Sing uit julle hart uit, want met hierdie geestelike liedere sê julle ook vir God dankie.

En dit is een van die grootste waarhede wat ek ooit in my lewe kon snap. Ek het so gesukkel om vir God dankie te sê. My woorde was min – ’n mens kan die woord dankie net soveel keer gebruik, dan word dit afgesaag. Toe sê iemand vir my ek moet ’n Psalm lees wanneer ek vir God wil loof en dankie sê dat Hy my so al langs die pad van die lewe help.

Wow! En kan Dawid en die ander digters dit nie mooi sê nie! Kyk net na Psalm 138:

1Ek sal die Here met my hele lewe prys. Ook al dien mense rondom my ander gode, sal ek U grootmaak. 2 U sal ek loof en aanbid, want ’n mens kan U vertrou. U het u kinders baie lief. Omdat u Naam op die spel is, het U belowe om u kinders altyd lief te hê. 3 Op ’n dag het ek tot U gebid. U het na my geluister en my gehelp. My lewe het verander, want U het my nuwe moed en krag gegee. 4 Almal wat op die aarde regeer, sal U loof, Here.
Laat hulle tog net hoor wat U sê en doen.
5 Hulle sal sing oor wat die Here met mense doen. Niemand is belangriker as Hy nie. 6 Niemand is groter as die Here nie. Sy grootheid lê daarin dat Hy mense raaksien en help wat dit nie self kan doen nie. Maar mense wat d**k dat hulle beter as ander is, kyk Hy mis. 7 Wanneer ek in die moeilikheid is, help U my. Mense kry my nie onder nie. U keer dat mense wat my wil seermaak, dit regkry. U red my uit hulle kloue. 8 Die Here sal vir my sorg totdat ek die dag doodgaan. U liefde hou nooit op nie. Moet asseblief nie ophou om vir my goed te wees nie.

Kom ons maak gedurig ons Bybels oop by die Psalms. Kom ons loof God se Naam hardop. Kom ons vertel ons vriende van ons Grote God. Hy verdien al ons lofprysing. Aan die grote God kom al die eer toe!

Gebed

O God, my God. Daar is geen ander soos U nie. Ja, U is die begin en die einde en sonder U asem in my is ek niks meer as ’n stofkorreltjie nie. U gee lewe. U is die Sterke en Almagtige. Dis U wat my staande hou as die storms om my woed. Agter U skuil ek voortdurend. Aan U kom al die eer toe, nou, môre tot aan die einde.

*SASSA’S PAYMENT DELAYS PUNISH THE POOR FOR SYSTEM FAILURES*

The GOOD Party condemns the South African Social Security Agency’s (SASSA) decision to delay the July grant payments for thousands of beneficiaries flagged for “review.” This is yet another bureaucratic blow to the poorest of the poor, who rely on grants not as a luxury, but as a lifeline.

SASSA claims that no grants have been suspended, only the payment dates have been shifted. But for a family living hand-to-mouth, even a one-day delay in receiving income can mean the difference between eating and going hungry. Transport is expensive and queuing at SASSA offices for hours on end, often repeatedly, comes at a cost the poor simply cannot afford.

In its statement, SASSA admits that many affected beneficiaries were never informed of the review process because their contact information was out of date. Yet the agency now expects these same people to somehow know to present themselves in person for re-verification, or risk suspension. This is not administrative oversight, it is systemic cruelty.

GOOD supports efforts to root out fraud. But the entire system cannot be recalibrated around a handful of bad actors at the expense of millions of desperate citizens.

The truth is that this review process forms part of a broader pattern of exclusion. From algorithmic profiling of SRD applicants to quarterly “savings” targets on cancelled grants, the focus has shifted from serving the poor to policing them. The State has no business treating social assistance as a favour instead of a constitutional right.

The GNU has committed to building a just and caring society. The GOOD Party will continue to advocate for a Basic Income Grant and for reforms that treat people with the dignity they deserve. Poverty is not a crime.

🚨 SOCIAL HOUSING CRISIS IN CAPE TOWN 🚨
The GOOD Party is calling for an immediate investigation into the management of social housing facilities across Cape Town, following mounting complaints from tenants, growing public outcry, and ongoing government inaction.

Over the past month, we have received repeated complaints from tenants living in DCI Social Housing in Goodwood, and other facilities like Conradie Park in Thornton. These complaints have included exorbitant utility charges, inhumane visitation rules, and broken promises by the housing provider.
