MOFA thanks politicians from various African countries for welcoming President Lai Ching-te's first visit to the continent!
As MOFA Minister Lin Chia-lung prepares to accompany President Lai on his departure for our ally Eswatini🇸🇿 on April 22, more than 40 politicians from 11 African countries have written letters, messages, and social media posts to welcome him and acknowledge Taiwan's efforts to build industrial resilience with Africa under the Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project.
Taiwan and Eswatini have maintained diplomatic ties for 58 years and have partnered across a range of sectors currently undergoing transition, including on economic matters, ICT, energy, agriculture, and public health. We hope that cooperation can continue to expand into more sectors, bringing further developmental opportunities and benefits to the people of both nations.
