The Engcobo Local Municipality hosted the State of the municipal address, which was presented by the Honorable Mayor Zangqa. In support of this prestigious occasion, all invited guests and councilors from Engcobo were present. The communities showed a positive remark towards the future plans of the Municipality for the new financial year,especially towards the plan to create job opportunities for young people and the development of Engcobo town.

On his first week in office Hon. Mayor held a meeting with Engcobo stakeholders, whom raised many complaints including but not limited to non availability speed humps at Mbhekeni location and within the town streets, water challenges, lack of hawker stalls and signage boards. In his response he promised to stakeholders that he will do his level best to improve the situation.

He promised them that on the 08 of March 2019 he shall come back to them to give feedback about the progress. Indeed today he came back to them to give his positive feedback concerning progress of improved service delivery.
He reported that speed humps are completed at Mbekeni location and motorists happy with their desings.The construction of speed humps within town is in progress and some streets are about to be completed.
On hawker stalls: tender is closing today the 08th of March 2019, and is hoping that a suitable and qualified company is appointed to deliver hawker stalls urgently.

On water challenges: Chris Hani District Municipality is working tirelessly as a results there is improvement regarding water challenges, water tanks are distributed in areas where infrastructure needs to be renovated. Chris Hani District Municipality is in process of installing water engines which have capacity of providing water without challenges.

Bojane community woke up with shocking news of r**e and murder done to one of their community members (Mrs Ntsenge). Mrs Ntsenge was r**ed and brutally murdered while she was asleep at night. Since death is a spontaneous tragedy, nobody then is ready for it hence it becomes difficult to bury our loved ones. It was not then different even to Ntsenge family.

Hon. Mayor Cllr. Siyabulela Zangqa with ward 8 leadership took upon their shoulders to ensure that late Mrs Ntsenge is buried with dignity. They indeed supported the family with everything they wanted to be assistance on, as a results Mrs Ntsenge was buried with dignity in her home of Bojane.

Today the 6th of March 2019 a Son to Mr. Ntsenge surprised Hon. Mayor with ward 8 ward councillor Cllr. Sandiso Ngxangu by honouring them with heart warming certificate of appreciation for moral and financial support leadership gave to Ntsenge family during their period of grief.
