SASCO MOURNS THE PASSING OF ITS DEPUTY PRESIDENT

It is with deep sadness that the South African Students Congress (SASCO) announces the untimely passing of its 21st Deputy President Comrade Buyile Sangolekhaya Bernard Matiwane, who has succumbed to death on Monday, 11th of July 2022 at his residence after a short period of sickness.

Comrade Buyile passed on serving as the Deputy President of SASCO and as a Provincial Congress Preparatory Committee member of the African National Congress Youth League of Western Cape.

Cde Buyile will be remembered for his love and appreciation for reading, writing and dialogue within the structures of the movement, which has seen him rise through the ranks of the student movement, student governance and the Mass Democratic Movement in general.

The officials have met with the family and shall keep the public abreast on the logistical arrangements regarding the memorial and funeral service, we plead with the public to kindly give the family space to mourn our comrade in peace during this difficult period.

SASCO sends its heartfelt condolences to the Matiwane family, his friends, and comrades!
