This week, we invite you to join us in praying for these two vital training events happening across Angola and Mozambique. As translation teams dive deep into equipping themselves.

1. In Angola: The Huíla translation teams are undergoing Render training (facilitated by our partners at Faith Comes By Hearing). Render is an incredible audio-based software that helps oral cultures translate Scripture.
* Pray for: Smooth technical sessions, quick understanding of the software, and seamless collaboration among the teams.

2. In Mozambique: The Hebrew training enters its second week. Translators are mastering complex linguistic skills to render the original biblical text accurately and powerfully into their mother tongues, ensuring the Old Testament is translated accurately and powerfully into their mother tongues.
* Pray for: High endurance, sharp minds to absorb complex grammar, and a deep spiritual connection to the text they are studying.

In the latest episode of P.R.A.Y., Lenthia Erasmus (Coordinator Intercessors for Africa) shared a beautiful update from the Wycliffe South Africa team’s Prayer walk.
The team recently hit the pavement for an uplifting prayer walk around our offices in Edenvale, South Africa.
Let's saturate our communities with His peace and joy! Watch the full video to see the team in action and get inspired to take your first steps.

What a beautiful testimony to witness the tangible impact of Bible translation happening right now within the Makhuwa community!
Last Sunday, the Makhuwa translation team shared the Word of God in Central Makhuwa on the community radio. The result? Six precious souls gave their lives to Jesus after hearing the Gospel in the language that speaks straight to their hearts. This is why Bible translation is so vital. It bridges the gap between hearing words and understanding truth. When God's Word is unlocked, lives are transformed. All the glory, honor, and praise belong to God alone! Please join us in praying for these new believers as they begin their journey with Christ.

Community, connection, and the power of the Word!

The Koti translation team recently hosted a community check, and it was nothing short of beautiful!

Instead of just reading through the text, the team and the community spent time truly internalizing the story of Abraham. Everyone took turns telling a different part of the story, weaving together a rich tapestry of shared narrative, laughter, and deep understanding.

What a powerful, interactive way to bring the community into the heart of the translation process! When we share the storytelling, the Word truly comes alive in our hearts and our culture.

We’d love to hear from you: If you had to retell your favorite scripture or historical story from memory, which one would you choose? Let us know in the comments 💬 below!

*Long video alert!*

Watching the Hebrew Training: Anglophone Cohort connect so deeply with the story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz is a powerful reminder of why we do this work. The text isn’t just on the page anymore; it’s in the heart.

Deeply grateful for the successful conclusion of our recent Hebrew Training: Anglophone Cohort (May 25 – June 6), focusing on the Book of Ruth.
A huge thank you to our facilitators, Dana Helmuth and Liza Lemmer. Despite Dana facilitating virtually, the collaboration was seamless, thanks largely to Liza’s excellent on-the-ground support.
It was a rich season of collaborative study. Our team returns to their work with invaluable linguistic insights, a deeper appreciation for the Hebrew language, and a strengthened commitment to the mission of Bible translation.

Here’s a quick look at what our amazing translation teams are up to right now:

1. Phimbi Bible translation: Progressing beautifully in the final week of their 2-week Consultant Check with Patrícia Tivane from Brazil!

2. Xirima Bible translation: Halfway through their own 2-week check, currently focused on the book of Mark.

3. Marrevoni Bible translation & Koti PtS: The Marrevoni team and the Koti "Psalms that Sing" team are deep in the zone, revising their texts for maximum clarity and impact.

Every verse brings us closer to seeing communities transformed by the Word in their own heart language.

Wycliffe Bible Translators officially launched the Marenje Bible translation project in March 2022, when the translation team participated in an orientation workshop to begin full-time translation work.

The project was established to create an oral translation of the New Testament.

You can read more about the initiative on the https://wycliffe.org.za/en/marenje page.

Busy Weeks Ahead for our Bible Translation Teams
!
Prayer Requests This Week:
Behind every translated verse are hours of dedication, deep study, and meticulous review.

This week, we invite you to cover our translation teams in prayer for these initiatives:
* In Mozambique: A three-week intensive Hebrew training has begun. Pray for the participants as they master complex language skills to better translate the Old Testament into mother tongues.
* In the Translation field: Vital consultant checks are taking place this week for the Siphuthi, Xirima, and Phimbi languages. This is a massive step toward ensuring accuracy and clarity in the text.

Please pray for:
- For endurance and sharp minds for the Hebrew students.
- For wisdom and unity between the consultants and the Siphuthi, Xirima, and Phimbi teams.
- For technology and logistics to run smoothly.

Thank you for being a vital part of this mission through your prayers!
