However, Light of Hope is reporting for duty as always and assisting where it can to help the residents to rebuild. In line with the SW Implementation plan presented by Light of hope, in partnership with SWEAT, organized and executed a two-day Empowerment Workshop that was held at Downtown Christian Centre on 04 and 05 February2021. The workshop theme was "Knowing your True Worth"
Points highlighted were:

*Believe in yourself above all else.
*Your potential holds your value.
*Not seeing your value is like spitting in your own face.
*Ask people you've worked with what they see your value as.
*Value time above all else.

We touched on these hard facts as the ladies opened up wholeheartedly and released what was holding them captive for so long. The Holy Spirit was ever so faithful and present during these meetings. We thank Jehovah that we are spiritually hungry for Him and these ladies yearned for Him and have received Him as their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Our Bible tells us that: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6).
"If you do right, you won't get hungry or thirsty!

Anything that ignites your passion fuels your value. The SW team have filled their hearts, spirits and souls during the two-day Workshops.

We thank Mampho Gwani from Africa Capacity, Z. Sikhele and P. Dwashu from SWEAT who facilitated for the duration of the workshop.

Blessings & Shalom.

On Friday 17 December 2020, Light of hope, in partnership with DTCC Ladies Ministry, hosted a Year End function and spoiled the S*x Workers of East London, whom Light of Hope is assisting in a rehabilitation program of Self - betterment, skills Development etc. Light of Hope has adopted this project to help all these ladies whom have opted to conditioning themselves to this life style, and helping them to see that there is a way out.

The event was held at Downtown Cristian Centre where the ladies were treated like the Queens they are. Our guest Speaker for the event, Nopinki Mafusini, through her testimony, gave all the ladies sound advice, brilliant encouragement and spoke hope to those that feel that their lives were facing a brick wall. The program was well organized and our MC for the occasion, Philiswa Siko, kept every one who attended, entertained and fresh. The food and beautiful décor was also the highlight of the occasion. The ladies were presented with Christmas gifts and tokens to help them along during the Christmas season.
We thank God Almighty that this program has empowered and encouraged so many women of all ages who are prostituting themselves to make a living. Light of hope has held numerous sensitization and empowering programs with the ladies this year. Many have turned over a new leaf and have empowered themselves by way of finding honest jobs, some women have even gone back to their husbands and families and have quit the life of the streets.
"And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went." (Genesis. 35:3)

Greetings,
Light of Hope yet again, rose to the occasion to bring together a community that is socially scorned and judged due to their choice of work and only source of income: SEXWORKERS. Light of Hope is working with the ladies to teach them love, to value themselves and rehabilitating them from thinking that "sexwork" is the only way out.

Last week on 02 December 2020, Light of Hope conducted a Community Awareness Campaign in Partnership with the Department of Social Development to create awareness on S*x Workers. This event incorporated with World Aids Day which was held on 1st December 2020. The event ended off with wonderful testimonies and refreshments.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Today we are so glad to have received 1000 packs of noodles from one of our faithful donors who is always eager to lend a helping hand be it cooking a huge pot of hearty soup, or being hands on with the work of the Lord at L.O.H.

Our Bible tells us that: "Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others." Colossians 3:23

Greetings, we took time out to show you what a day looks like at our structure as a testiment of the work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Bible tells us that: "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[f] you did it to me.’"
