ESTABLISHING MUNICIPAL CAMPAIGN TEAMS
5. In order to implement an effective local government campaign:
a. The NLC approved the establishment of a Municipal Campaign
Team (MCT) for rash municipality. GOOD will contest in the local government elections.
b. The MCT will comprise of the branch chair for each branch within that municipality.
c. The National Organiser or a Deputy National Organiser will convene a MCT when at least 75% of the wards within a municipality have branches properly established, or when the NMC approves the establishment of an MCT upon the motivation of the National Organiser.
d. At the first meeting of the MCT the members will elect a Chairperson and a Secretary from amongst its members.
e. The Chairperson will convene a meeting of the MCT as follows:
i. At least once every three months; and
ii. At least once a month in the 6 months prior to the local government elections;
iii. At least once a week in the 3 months prior to the local government elections.
f. The MCT will coordinate the branch activities towards a successful local government election.
g. The MCT will implement the election strategy and campaign as requested by the NMC.
