BCMDA is convening its Ordinary Board Meeting today.

The meeting is chaired by Interim Board Chairperson Mr. M. Dilima and attended by Board Members, the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee Mr W Mushoshwe, and the BCMDA Executive Committee led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. A. Gqoboka.

The focus is on reviewing the Agency’s Quarter 3 performance. Key agenda items include:

BCMDA at Africa Agricultural Indaba 2026 🌾

BCMDA was proud to join government, farmers, investors, researchers and partners at the Africa Agricultural Indaba 2026 in KuGompo City, East London.

Day 1 highlights:
Hon. Premier O. Mabuyane and Hon. MEC N. Khontsiwe opened the Indaba alongside industry leaders committed to growing the Eastern Cape’s agricultural sector.
Acting Executive Mayor Cllr Sakhumzi Caga reaffirmed Buffalo City’s commitment to building resilient rural economies through agriculture, agro-processing, innovation and inclusive growth.

The message was clear: Agriculture is more than farming. It’s a driver of dignity, food security, industrialisation and jobs.

We focused on strengthening agro-processing, supporting emerging farmers, and bringing women, youth, township and rural economies into the agricultural value chain.

The Eastern Cape has huge potential in citrus, livestock, wool, dairy, grain, aquaculture, cannabis and horticulture. Now it’s about turning that potential into jobs and sustainable growth.

Together, through collaboration, innovation and investment, we’re rebuilding local economies across the province.

The Municipal Public Accounts Committee is concluding it's stakeholders engagements at the NU 12 Community Hall in Mdantsane.

This is to consider the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality Annual Report for the 2024/2025 financial year, as well as

We are pleased to announce the induction of our Audit and Risk Committee members, on the 09th April 2026.

In line with the Companies Act 71 of 2008, as amended, and the King Report on Corporate Governance, this committee plays a crucial role in ensuring effective governance, risk management, and internal controls within our organization.

The Audit and Risk Committee is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial reporting, audit processes, risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements. As stated in Section 94 of the Companies Act, the committee ensures the integrity of our financial statements and promote transparency and accountability.

The Audit and Risk Committee is a vital component of our governance structure, providing independent oversight and guidance to ensure we meet our strategic objectives, and also gives advisory role to the board , says the ARC Chair Mr Mudau.

The Agency welcomes its ARC members and look forward to their valuable contributions to our organization's continued success.
