The ANCYL eThekwini Region, through the Curnick Ndlovu Zone, continues to place the aspirations of young people at the centre of its programme of action through the successful rollout of the Take Me To Varsity Campaign.

Led by REC Member, Cde Lindani Dlamini, the programme seeks to empower young people with access to higher education opportunities while simultaneously encouraging active participation in our democratic processes through voter registration.

Young people are encouraged to bring their required documents and join us as we assist learners with tertiary institution applications, provide guidance on available opportunities, and ensure that the youth become active participants in shaping the future of our country.

Today, the ANCYL eThekwini Region successfully intensified the Voter Registration Campaign at UKZN Howard College Campus as part of the build-up towards the Open Registration Weekend of 20–21 June 2026.

The programme was led by ANCYL NEC Member Cde Mandisa Dlamini, who was deployed alongside ANCYL eThekwini Regional Working Committee Member Cde Sduduzo Makhathini, engaging students and young people on the importance of active participation in our democracy through voter registration.
The campaign served as a powerful platform to mobilise the youth, encourage first-time voters to register, and ensure that young people take their rightful place in shaping the future of our communities and our country.

Through door-to-door engagement, information sharing, and voter registration awareness at UKZN Howard College Campus, young people responded positively to the call to become active participants in shaping South Africa's future.

The ANCYL remains committed to building a conscious, active, and registered youth electorate as we continue to oil the machinery of the African National Congress ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.

Today, the ANCYL eThekwini Region once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to youth participation and democratic renewal through a successful Voter Registration Campaign at the Durban University of Technology (DUT).

Today, Wednesday, 10 June 2026, the ANCYL eThekwini Region successfully conducted a Voter Registration Campaign at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Westville Campus, mobilising and assisting young people to prepare for the upcoming Open Voter Registration Weekend of 20–21 June 2026.
Led by ANCYL NEC Member Cde Mandisa Dlamini and ANCYL Regional Organizer Cde Mpilo Nzama, the campaign engaged students on the importance of active participation in democracy and encouraged first-time voters and young people to verify and update their voter registration details.

The programme received a positive response from students, demonstrating the growing commitment of young people to shape the future of our communities through the ballot box. The ANCYL eThekwini Region continues to lead from the front in mobilising young people to participate in shaping the future of our democracy through voter registration.

Join us as we take the Voter Registration Campaign to UKZN Edgewood Campus (Khwezi) on Tuesday, 9 June 2026 at 09h30. This important engagement will be addressed by distinguished leaders of our movement, including ANCYL NEC Member Cde Mandisa Dlamini, ANCYL former Deputy President Phumzile Mgcina, and the ANCYL RWC member Sduduzo Makhathini.

As we prepare for the upcoming Open Voter Registration Weekend (20–21 June 2026) and the 2026 Local Government Elections, we call upon all young people to register, organise, and become active participants in building stronger communities.
